Hello there my name is Devin, over the past 18 years I've been building various types of rigs and yet to fully document any of the builds very well.

Hoping by creating this thread it will keep me accountable in doing so, anyways build plan is as follows

2021 Jeep Jeep JLR, 2.0, Auto
(Currently has 19k miles)

Drive train upgrades

Atlas 2 speed 3.8/1
Currie Rockjock 60s

Suspension

4 link rear, 3 link front
12" Oris with Resi
Front frame chop(maybe)

Body

Stretching the tub between door on rear wheel opening 12"
2024 Grill
Next Venture fenders and hardwired
Jeep Oem half doors

Misc.

Motobilt rear fuel cell
PSC hydro assit with engine driven pump
Half doors
Stretched hard top

After removing and selling axles,suspension, and t case, I removed the tub which wasnt my favorite thing to do alone in a 15'×25' single car garage.

I originally had some plate formed to create the splice center sections but while waiting to start this project I found a good JLU frame which made the splicing slightly simplier.

Cleaned up JLU rear section ready to be slid into place

Wrapped the weekend up by getting the Jlu rear section mated and trued up to the front section

Used a combination of Laser level and 4 Rv leveling Jacks, floor jack and bottle jack to get the frame aligned. Ended up also welding a few temporary braces before welding.

Jay's thread on here referencing Frame and body specs was extremely helpful

Also Used the Laser level to check for centerline alignment which end up being within about 1/32" from front to back

I've been building rigs from bodied to full buggies for years, but it's an afterhours thing in my at home garage. I don't do this for my day job.

Since your obviously a good fabricator, did you consider building a set of Superduty axles as opposed to the crates?

Considered them but ultimately decided a jeep this new deserved a nice set of axles. I did order completely blank Rockjocks so I'll be designing my own suspension either way. Biggest cons of Superdutys is metric wheels, cast control components to deal with.

What is your expected wheelbase going to be? I really like the idea of a 2 door with a longer wheelbase than the current one has.

Adding 12" to the tub, probably a couple inches to the front suspension so around 112"

You might be interested in this build a local in my area did. I'm not technical enough to know the details but it looks like they also extended the tub, new frame, engine, basically everything. I've been wheeling with them and this Jeep is a monster!

Yes, very similar i believe Jeepworks did the tub stretch for him. I've tried with no success to contact Jeepworks about their Jll builder kit. So I'm going to document my process of doing this from scratch utilizing various oem parts and some hand fabricated
