Can someone tell me the difference? Why would the newer model be so much less expensive?

From the brief descriptions, they are the same item, but perhaps sold by different third-party vendors on Amazon's website. I am wary of Amazon's "There is a newer model of this item" labeling, as they are often completely different models. I am even more wary of some of Amazon's third-party vendors who will put up a $120 price on a $30 item, if it is back-ordered on Amazon.

Here is a video showing the install. they have a link to the cord on amazon that shows some heat shielding tape on the block heater end and a plastic cover for the wall outlet end. Both seem like a good idea, not sure they warrant a $20 increase over the one that is $12 but it does look more like the factory one best I can tell.
