Hello all! Starting the process with our new 2021 JLURD. Picked up from Demontrond on Conroe, TX on 9/29 and home hours later to Rockwall. I'll add my factory bills list later. Hard top off same day with first mod- topsy brackets. Soft top on, found out rear passenger window won't go down. Before getting in to the dealer to fix (bad window motor), installed driver and passenger bulletproof dash mounted, CMM brackets for mirrors, and husky for liners. In to the shop on Thursday 10/1, back morning of 10/3. GPCA grab handles on that day. Put the CoverKing Topliner on the freedom panels (all need to do the hard top). Sunday 10/4 brought tazer mini, ham antenna bracket install and wire routing, and kc hilites under hood lights. Used 2 of the trim clip holes to mount the lights (5/16 x 3/4 sheet metal hex screws btw!). Today added the 12v accessory harness being the ignition switched port to direct wire my radar detector. Yaesu ft-8900r next thing to go in, probably under the passenger seat. I'll come back and clean this up. Just wanted to get started with a log before I forget!

Have you tried Waze? In my area it's a great radar detector alternative. Nice Jeep.

Thanks! Radar detector all wired already and working great. Had it since 2007 and still does the job. Waze is ok too but I prefer Google maps.

We have an active Waze community here, so you invariably get "police reported ahead" warning a mile beforehand.

Curious how you mounted the radar. Looking at mounting my V1 but haven't spent much time looking yet. I have the advanced safety package so not sure how that is going to play in but the mounts on my other cars won't work on the mirror stem so I need to come up with something else.

I'll get a pic tomorrow. Escort sticky cup mount at the bottom of windshield. Ran the wires through the dash and out through the back of the front top dash panel. It's a smart cord too and the button will sticky velcro to the left side of my steering column.

Gotcha. I'm going more for a hard mount on the mirror and then probably tap power from up there too.

can u recc them? I Need one...not currently, but when it arises.
I live in Rockwall so I dropped it there. Took a day and a half to diagnose and another day to receive and replace part. I'm sure there are faster in town, this was just convenient. Suggest asking in the Texas forum.

I am terrified of the larger dealers in DFW, they kinda jaded me during the search experience. Might just go to Athens where I bought it if I ever need anything, small family dealer where I prob will not get Karen'ed walking into the garage to ask a question.

Asking cause i pass through Rockwell quite a bit.thanks!

Cool! I'll actually be in Athens this weekend. I haven't had a bad experience in Rockwall, just know they stay busy.

Went camping this weekend with the daughter at a Cub Scout event. Know the camp well and had a chance to try a few things out today. One hill I've had my truck on before came in at 21 degrees at the top. Almost got stuck and rolled while high centered on a rock in a washed out area (ok not that close to rolling). Rubicon lockers and the diesel torque made getting unstuck effortless. My buddy who was with me (and owns a jk) was definitely surprised we got of that. After that just ran a few miles or back roads looking for gators. Looking forward to getting to know this jeep inside and out over the next while!

Congratulations!! I bought 2020 JLURD from Demondtron too.
If you haven't checked your fuse box under the hood. Half of my fuses needed setting properly.
Have 15k miles on mine and not one issue. Extremely happy with mine.
