Recently traded in 2018 sport for a 2021 jlur. I know the exhaust loops underneath have been an issue for being so exposed, but the 2021 seems even more so than previous years - and it's not just the curly loop on the driver's side, it's all of it! Looking from front about the bottom of the front diff, the exhaust is as low as and in front of the transmission skid bar.

I don't think the skid plates from the 2018-2020 models will work, with the exhaust being so much lower and the mounting points up around the oil pan not being available anymore.

Anyone have advice on how to protect this, and/or what skids might work on the oil pan and exhaust (and transmission).

Thanks

both 4 door, 3.6L engine and 6 sp manual transmission.

looking at the engine mounts - those are way different than the 2018-2020 models based on install instructions for almost all the oil pan/transmission skid plates out there. but that exhaust pipe under the transmission looks way different too.

That looks really low......nice and easy to crush on a rock. Artec says 2021 isn't supported due to motor mount changes, but it looks way worse than just mount changes......😲

same with Evo, so far.... I think you can get a plate to mount to those brackets with the new engine mount isolators, but you would have to lose 1-2" clearance to get a plate under the exhaust enough to minimize contact or heat buildup....

Is the exhaust that low on the 2018-2020 JLURs?

@Northridge4x4 any ideas on oil/transmission skid plates for the new 2021 models? are you aware of any that will fit as is? thanks!!

I’d like to hear from someone with insider connections why FCA changed the motor mounts and exhaust routing. Is there something wrong with the 2018-2020 models that we should be watching out for?

It looks like they replaced the standard engine mounts with vibration isolators? Not sure if that is common across other jeep/fca vehicles and it just took time to get them onto the wrangler? Does anyone know if the gladiators have these?

Spoke to @Quadratec today and told them about the new engine mounts in the 3.6L engine, and they are looking into it.
