Ordered a JLR 8/31, got my VIN from the dealer 2 days later. They didn't give me a VON and I didn't ask. Is the VON necessary to track? How important is it to get that?

The VON is only important, in the very initial stages, to help you find out your VIN. You are past that need. It's all VIN from here on in for you.

Mine was received at the Chicago area dealer this morning. Working out the pandemic logistics to hopefully take delivery tonight.

Now all of the excitement is done. You are going to be bored. Monday go in and order a new one and get rid of this old one. Waiting impatiently is 99% of the fun.

We took delivery tonight, and what a great vehicle it is. 13.5 weeks from time of order. The wait wasn't easy, but it's so worth it. I'll likely be signing off of this thread, but don't hesitate to PM with any questions about the process etc. I look forward to seeing each of you in other threads on the forum!

You'll likely get it in half of that time now that the new model year rush is (kinda) winding down.

Based on the last few updated orders to delivery, it sounds like 13 1/2 weeks, 13 weeks, and 10 1/2 weeks. It would be awesome to see some folks getting 6 week turnarounds.

I feel like those who ordered a while ago (june) definitely had a longer wait since they didn’t even start production until aug 10, I ordered mine on August 10, so I think it may be a more accurate timeline since I didn’t have the same “preheat” time. I’m still in the “got the materials together and pending build” status, so we will see how long it sits there

You’re right on delivered orders. I was speculating about the forward-looking prospects for the poster who, if I recall, was a just-about-to order. But, to your point, that’s an improvement from current experiences.

If I had more time, I would tally up the orders on here and get averages. I will try to get some soon. May help people.

OK...new status today! Ordered 8/10...the dealer texted that it was in paint so I did the Jeep Chat and this was her response... I'm showing that at this time your order is currently in the build process. The completed vehicle should be ready for inspection in the next day or so.
