My dealership contact said $9500 option a couple days ago. I spoke to her today, hoping she would have more after the announcement and her words:

"Looks like the Hemi option will be $3000 but it will require another $6500 in options to be added."

So we know the automatic is $1500 of that $6500. Wonder what the other mandatory options are? This is off a Rubicon already.

Edit: Select Track as well likely needed? Another $1000?

I also asked how certain is this pricing and her answer:

"We are the largest Jeep dealer on the East coast. We can pre-build configurations to submit when ordering opens in December."

So take it for what it's worth.

Well according to everything here it requires Auto, painted top and fenders, leather, stupid wheels, a stupid transfer case, both safety packages, stupid steel bumpers, infotainment and I'm sure I'm missing something. Methinks your dealer knows not what they speak of.

What of those are standard on a Rubicon?

Look man, you were the one who came in here saying the lack of a 4:1 transfer case wasn't a huge step backwards in capability. There's a reason professional Rock crawlers have ultra low crawl ratios. Why do you think that is?
I think this topic has largely been put to rest but I’ll keep an open mind...when you show me evidence of a 392 failing to clear an obstacle because of its T-case, we’ll pick this up where we left off. I won’t be holding my breath.

Don't forget the mandatory 2" lift!
Correct, those are just the current options that are required.

Then you need to figure the additional cost for
- 6.4 V8
- 2” lift
- breadlock capable wheels
- big brakes

Which could easily add $5k+

So all in this could be a $20k+ option. Which would mean a base price of around $64k+

Only hope is options will be priced as pkg similar to Recon. Wasn't it like a $5k savings on the options when pricing out a non-Recon and adding the options?

Yeah I alluded to the fact that I have only wheeled manuals and while I understand torque multiplication I don't have any experience with it. Sorry for being a douche. I'm still not happy with the mandatory AWD transfer case and won't be purchasing one if they stick to that requirement. I get that they're trying to keep people from twisting axles, I just don't agree with how they're going about it. This is an inherently weaker transfer case. I'll just add tons to mine and maybe do a 5.7 swap when the motor wears out.

It’s going to be a premium order any way you slice it. Is this a limited edition or are they adding it permanently to the lineup?

Maybe if it had Dana 60s. As it sits, not a chance.
Add it all up? I hope I’m wrong but your hoping for a miracle at anything under that price.

Like someone else posted the required options are about 15k individually. Even if they charge 10k just for the motor (they won't) it will still come in under 70k. I'm not hoping for anything but your calculator and common sense are broken.
