80k would not surprise me at all. That's close to what an optioned out SRT 8 cost. Past that your getting into 700hp Trackhawk price territory. Not sure they would price it that high but maybe.
If they're gonna even come close to that number I'll just do my own 5.7 swap and tons and be done for significantly less.

I’m hoping it’s not, but I don’t see how it can be any cheaper. The engine and install at places like rubitrux is 35k. Pretty standard. Take that 35 plus all the options that come on this 392 and it’s crazy high.

Why in the world would it cost Jeep the same $35k as a small aftermarket outfit like Rubitrux?

They're limited to 95 mph - they're just gonna get there faster!
If it's limited to 95mph then how did they get a 13.0 1/4 mile time? A 13.0 ET should trap somewhere around 105/106mph. But it's interesting they don't advertise a MPH in the 1/4 mile, only an elapsed time. So they either removed the speed limiter for the test or this thing does the first 1000' really fast and then bangs off the speed limiter for the last 320 feet lol

Lol, FCA can't and won't be charging what shops are charging for a custom motor swap.

@DOOKEY is on the money here!!

A ~45:1 final crawl ratio with the 392 will be absolutely fine for technical rock crawling! :D

You need ~70:1 for the pentastar etc. because they don't have the low end power/torque off idle
I'm at 101:1 for 40's with my 3.6. :)

Especially because I have more than 1 gear.

FCA hasn't said a word about pricing. Take anything your dealers suggest might be the price and throw it all out the window. SMH.
Do you know how many folks on here you just upset with that statement? Lol. Car and driver quoted starting at 50k. Saw that on the big JL fb group and folks were elated, until some of us said to go build And price a rubicon ecodiesel and then tack on 4-6k from there. Not sure why C&D even quoted that number.

I'm curious why you believe a 392 configuration costs FCA $8-10k more than the ecodiesel?

I fixed it. I didn’t think about already accounting for the 4.5k upgrade for diesel. I’m thinking it’s gonna be 8-10k for just the engine and trans upgrade vs a manual 3.6. My bad.

Big difference in building in an existing engine/plumbing/wiring to a frame at the factory versus gutting existing and installing, running wires, ECM, tuning, etc. Not to mention purchasing scale, etc.

It will definitely be interesting to see where it ends up.
I wish the 6.4 was an option on the Ram 1500's because we might get a clue there.
It's still sort of interesting to see the diesel for the 1500 is $5k more, whereas the 5.7l is just $1500.
Where would that place the 6.4?
Could it really be that much higher than the diesel?
