Oh, and no plans for a Hemi Gladiator!?
I've been skeptical that the Gladiator will get the 392.

Wrangler had looming competition from Bronco. They needed to fire back.

The Gladiator had no such competition. The ZR2 doesn't have a hot engine option, and the alleged Bronco pickup is years away. Unless Ford reverses course with a NA market Range Raptor, Jeep has no need to stuff the Hemi in the Glad.

LOL at all the people complaining about tire size stock. They like the sound of a 4.5 0-60 and 13 second quarter mile

LOL at all the people complaining about pricing. The only people mad at this costing anything less than $70k should be Rubitrux and Americaā€™s most wanted, who just lost a huge amount of future conversions.

Lets do the math!

2.0L or 3.6L has 300 ft/lbs to be generous. So * 4.1 = 1230 in 1:1 transmission gear.

6.4L is 470 * 2.75 = 1292.5 in 1:1 transmission gear.

It is likely they do not offer the 4.1 as it's not needed. I have never had an issue on my 2.0L with the 4.1 that I wanted more crawl ratio.
I came here to do this math, but you beat me to it.

It's also somewhat interesting that in 4-low the 2.0 Rubicon actually has more torque at the axle than the 392... If you could get the turbo to spool.

2.0: 295 lb-ft * 4.10 differential * 4.0 T-case * 4.71 first gear = 22,787 lb-ft at the axle
392:
470 lb-ft * 3.73 differential * 2.72 T-case * 4.71 first gear = 22,459 lb-ft at the axle

Sorry, that's just not going to happen. The take rate on the 2-door is so low compared to the 4-door as it is.

Just caught the presentation. Since there was no specific mention of the 392 only being available in the Unlimited, I will hold out hope that the 2 door will get the same 6.4.

they said 21.5 gallon tank, but of course no mileage.. my v6 gets maybe 14 "city" so . . .
I must have missed it despite scouring a half dozen sources...you got a link? 21.5 will yield abysmal fuel range and open a serious market for aux tanks.

I think this is awesome....BUT...I assume pricing will be retarded like every other desirable SRT product. I love the craziness of the 392 but to be honest they should have also just added the 5.7 hemi to any trim as one of the engine options for a reasonable price. Additionally, I really don't think the dana 44s will survive long at all and for the price I am willing to bet they will charge, better axles should have been part of the deal.

So all that talk from FCA in 2017-2018 that the hemi would not pass crash tests and not have enough cooling was clearly BS from the start!

Cheers
