“This is the most powerful, quickest, most capable Jeep Wrangler we’ve ever built,” said Jim Morrison
Isn't this the same thing he said a couple months ago about the 4xe? It is interesting how polar opposite each of these new models are and the direction they are taking each.

4xe: silent on the trails and inner city streets
392: Intentionally loud V8 soundtrack by way of valve adjusting exhaust

4Xe: most fuel efficient Wrangler ever built
392: we are not releasing MPG ratings or even talking about that until we are forced to

4Xe: complex array of turbo ICE & electric propulsion
392: old school pushrod V8. Not even ESS - exhaust valve button replaced that.

4Xe: beautiful electric blue
392: beautiful hydro blue
Ok, they can agree on something!

I'm interested to see how both do in the real world. I've always been a fan of V8s, but I can't give up the manual. So Pentastar, I'm stuck with you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from your cliff notes, I think the wheels are beadlock capable (ie you can convert them to true beadlock using the optional beadlock ring and bolt kit), but from the factory they are setup non beadlock (similar to the available mopar wheels that have been out for a while now for the JL/JT).
I'm wondering if they do it this way because the beadlocks are not DOT approved? The time I went to Moab EJS the police were writing tickets for non-DOT beadlocks. As vehicles lined up for a run the police would come by and check the whole line.

Wow, if that is the stock stance, I like it! Not that it's made for Indy, but I wonder how well it will handle. I would think it would be pretty responsive with that much power. I'm not sure I'm responsible enough to own it...

6.4L HEMI, reinforced frame, “heavy duty” D44s, 33” tires...this is going to be a 5,500 lb beast.

0-60 in 4.9 seconds. MPG TBD.

They speculate pricing will be around $70,000

Yes!!! Although this will easily be $20k over normal rubicons.

I sure hope they say whether or not it comes with chromoly axles Bc if not snap crackle popping will happen on the trail a lot....
EPA I bet is 12/16.

I was hoping they would have a 2 door option so I could do wheelies. Disappointed.
No 2-door diesel, no 2-door hemi, no 2-door Gladiator, even though the J-6 is badass.

Oh well. If I was going to give FCA $70,000 it'd be on a RAM 1500 TRX anyway. Seems like a much better value for the money.

I just reread the Press release. 2 things:

1). Does it not have a 4:1 ratio in Low range?
2). It is available in my beloved Punk'n Orange. Shit. Dammit. Fuck. I'm going to buy this stupid thing, aren't I? Fuck.
