392XR delivered
I spent the morning at the dealer today taking delivery of the 392. Wow! These are such amazing vehicles! Truly impressive!
I have to say that I am also impressed with the dealer. These guys are worthy of a recommendation for those in the San Francisco Bay Area. No mark up, no Funny business, 100% nice folks.
McKevitt Jeep in Berkeley, CA.
I’m happy to provide further info if requested.
Also, for anyone in the area that’s interested in seeing one, I have made arrangements for the truck to be in their showroom through the first of the year.

Finally - my 392 XR is here!

Please add - MW822078 to the list, as delivered:
- Hydro Blue
- XR package
- Tow
- Off-road camera
- Headliner
- Gorilla glass
- slush mats didn't make it to final build

Please remove my name from - MW771834, more on that later**.

This was a unallocated sold order through Chapman's from right when they first posted on here (with that large discount from invoice). Tom and the whole gang there were great to deal with - would highly recommend them to anyone!

Note they will not give you sold order protection, nor honor the affiliates reward program - but they are now pretty up front about that.

As with many on here it has been a roller coaster ride but am very happy this was delivered and now on it's way to me in CA. It's been killing me to have not posted or ask questions along the way, but I didn't want to post anything until all paperwork was signed and left the dealer (see below why).

I kept a pretty good log of the build cycle that I thought folks maybe interested in. Some interesting notes:
- VIN was assigned immediately
- it bounced D to D1 to D a few times
- it was stuck in inspection for a looooong time (I suspect as they waited for parts to get to JB)
- the dreaded JB was very short
- shipment only took 5 days to arrive on the dealer's lot.

Here's what it took:

7/24 - BX - Order placed - Good order available for scheduling (build priority - 99)
7/26 - VIN issued
7/26 - D status - in the scheduling stage, once all of the required parts for your order are accounted for it will be sequenced for production
8/2 - D1 status – called JC - parts have been gathered, no build date scheduled
8/4 - D status - in scheduling phase, parts are being gathered.
8/16 - D1 – JC - Your Jeep has been scheduled for build. All of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process shortly.
8/18 - D status - Your Jeep is in the scheduling stage. Once the parts are received it will be scheduled for build. I'm not able to tell if it regressed, Matthew, but I did double check the status. I'll have it looked into internally.
8/26 - D status - Your Jeep is in the scheduling stage. Once the parts are received it will be scheduled for build
9/17 - D status - called in - Your case is escalated to a specialist and is being expedited through the rest of the process.
9/21 - D status - called in - Order is being built, it's no longer showing as on the list to be scheduled and built as it's being built. But not D1 status yet.
10/4 - D status - called in - in build process and in assembly which means parts gathered.
10/13 - D1 status - called in - build scheduled and in gateline. No est ship date.
10/15 - D status - Your Jeep is in the scheduling stage. Once the parts are received it will be scheduled for build
10/26 - D/D1 status - Thank you so much for holding. I am showing all of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon.
10/27 - D/D1 status - I can see all the required materials for your order have been gathered and the plant has sequenced your order for production, it should be entering the build shortly! I'm sure you can't wait for this to be completed!
10/29 - D1 status - I can see all the required materials for your order have been gathered and the plant has sequenced your order for production, it should be entering the build very soon! Estimated shipping date is November 13th.
11/09 - D1 status - call in - gateline and sequenced with 11/10 shipping date. Escalated again to brand mentor
11/09 - E status - Frame stage
11/10 - F status - Paint stage
- called in
11/10 - G status - Trim stage
11/11 - I status - Inspection
- via JC - I am showing at this time your Vehicle has been built and is currently in the inspection portion of the build process.
11/29 - I status - Inspection - via JC - I can certainly have this escalated for you and looked into the case number will be XXXX I will have this looked into and have someone email you back with the latest information
12/1 - JB status - via JC - I am showing that your vehicle has been built and is pending installation of additional equipment. This is a necessary step when additional features or optional equipment packages are added to the vehicle.
12/4 - KZ status - via JC - Your 2021 Jeep Wrangler is built and in the shipping stage with a current ETA window of 12/09/2021 - 12/23/2021 to reach the dealer.
12/6 - KZ status - via JC - I can see your vehicle has been released from the factory and was approved for shipping! It currently in transit! We have the ETA window of 12/13/2021 - 12/23/2021
12/8 - KZ status - via JC - Good news, your Jeep is in the shipping stage! The ETA for delivery is listed between 12/08/2021 - 12/13/2021.
12/9 - Delivered! - via JC - I have looked into the vehicle order and have confirmed that it is showing as having been delivered to the dealer on 12/08/2021. You will have to contact your dealer to get more information on this.

** what happened to my first build: this was a different dealer, NOT Chapman. It was sold from underneath me, after ordering it in May. At best I'll put it down to poor communication, but when they get $20K over MSRP vs the below invoice price that they agreed to with me, well I think we all know what happened.

Oh - and pics!!

Thanks @Membrain and @REBEL JT - this thread is awesome, and appreciate the ton of work you put into it.
Same story. My first deal and order got sold out from under me at my dealer which I used for years and years. Chapman to the rescue….and at a better price than I ever paid at my dealer.
I’ll be at Chapman from here on in.
Congrats and I hope she shows up soon.

Well, I live in south Florida and called my dealer today to see if my 392 made it yet from up north on the train. Lo and behold he said it was unloaded at the Tampa hub on the 17th! Now waiting for truck transport to the dealer, probably won’t be ready to pick up until after Christmas, but that’s ok. I know it’s close now! (Vin 852469)
Seems we are trainmates, mine was also just offloaded on the 16/17 in Tampa. Waiting on transport to a dealer in Tampa so hopefully not too much longer.

FWIW, the following 14 VINs tracked on Rebel's list will be deleted from my list as they were eventually found to be non-392s:
785129
812912
813543
813613
827874
830592
851018
851264
852364
852467
853878
855860
861493
870003

...that is all...
:)
I wonder if these people knew they were not ordering a 392, just a base with the XR package???

Some people just want to be part of the cool-kid-392-group? :)

I got mine from a dealership in Tampa so I'm coming to Tampa to pick it up as soon as it gets to the dealership. All the dealers on this side wanted a premium.
