Anyone have any information on what might be new on the 2022? If nothing, then I’m good with picking up my 2021. If something new is added, then I‘ll consider going with the 2022.

Scott Blum said “minor changes”, but they haven’t been announced. But, given the price increase of $5, I don’t imagine it’s much.

We ordered 06/25, Vin 789397

Dealer just called and said all of their 392 orders have been cancelled and converted to 2022’s.

I’m not too happy about this. Especially if they aren’t even going to start making 392’s again until April…

anybody else with the bad news??
Scott Blum said publicly on the FB owners forum yesterday, the April build date is crap. When Jeep starts MY22, 21s are done and they can’t ship a MY21 after 12/31/21. He also said they are not going to pause building 392s only to pick them up again in April.

The '22 order guide is posted here in another thread. Looks like its a carryover of the '21s build based on that. No mention of anything different that I could find.

Up Scott’s Blum for saying “minor changes”, but they haven’t been announced.

...they can't even ship MY2021 XR392s on time, what makes you think they will ship MY2022s on time?

I'm tacking the MY2021 metrics... it is what I see...

...and Scott Blum on the FB 392 group has a bit of conflict of interest... he is biased. :)

We have 3 apparent forms of communication, Jeep Chat (useless), Dealer PO status (close) and Scott Blum on FB giving vague responses (can't really blame him)... 4 if you count anyone's particular random guess... I'll call this #4 "*MSU".

Pretty much the same dealer experience... the attitude is, youre lucky we even placed the order and took your deposit at all, if they decide to build it we will let you know when to pay us the rest.
I already gave them $40k and they still treat me like I owe them a favor.

“On time” LOL - C’mon @Membrain, really? you know there’s no such thing in Jeep-speak.😉😅 But seriously, I don’t think anyone, including Jeep, can accurately predict when MY22s will be delivered with the supply chain and labor issues. No matter what they predict, they’ll be wrong.

IMO, Blum is just one more source of info that has provided an occasional good nugget; he hinted at a MY22 392 when others were saying no way, had the MY22 opening order day correct, appears right on no 392XR lift height changes and, at least for my own MY21 XR, had the rough build time of 4mo correct —- but definitely YMMV.

All that said, I think any of us who walked thru MY21 392 production learned any info thrown out there about vehicle deliveries has to be taken worth a grain of salt - whatever is said has rarely been on the money.

6/18/21 Walked into the Dealership

6/23/21 Dealership Finally Placed order

7/08/21 Received VON

7/08/21 Contacted Jeep Order is passes Editing and is Schedule pending availability of production capacity. NO VIN ASSIGNED

7/08/21 Case Number assigned escalating to higher department to find more information.

7/22/21 VIN 812921 Assigned and Status Update: At this present time, all of the materials that are necessary to build your vehicle are being received and the build process should begin very soon.

8/26/21 Email Status Update: I show your order remains prioritized for production and at the present time all of the materials that are necessary to build your Jeep Wrangler 392 are being received and the build process should begin very soon. Estimated production plan timing for
either the week of August 16th or the week of August 23rd.

9/17/21 Email Status Update: Good News! At this present time, your vehicle is currently progressing through the build process. Depending on your unique vehicle configuration, extra time may be necessary for extra options, packages, or factory features selected with your build. Your vehicle should be concluding this process shortly and moving forward to the inspection and quality checks of the process.

9/18/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Vehicle is currently in Trim : Engine and Interior and should be entering Inspection soon.

9/20/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle has been built and is pending installation of additional equipment. This is a necessary step when additional features or optional equipment packages are added to the vehicle. Currently no Dealer ETA has been provided. Please reach out to the Selling Dealer as they may have a more accurate date of arrival or status for you.

9/21/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Vehicle is in the shipping stage however a Dealer ETA has not been Provided.

9/27/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Vehicle build is complete and awaiting shipping, Dealer ETA is between 10/08/21 and 10/18/21.

10/02/21 Text from Dealership: Your Wrangler 392 is on a train to Phoenix. As of this morning it,s in Oklahoma. Exciting!!! Getting Close!!!

10/06/21 Text from Dealership: Your Wrangler 392 has arrived in El Mirage and is currently waiting for transport to our dealership. I will let you know when it arrives at our dealership. Should be 3-5 business days.

10/08/21 Walked into the Dealership. Already had loan approved on my own but they decided to pull my credit without my permission and attempted to sell me a new loan. Walked out.

10/12/21 Picked up loan check from Credit Union and the deal couldn't have gone any smoother.
My seller wouldn't speak to me and had someone else handle me instead.
Drove home in my new 392.

Lesson to be learned:
1. Always have the loan check in hand.

2. Don't use CUDL system to process your loan. The dealership will pretend your loan didn't go through and try to sell you their loan.
3. Never let the Dealership pull your credit, if they try to use the Patriot Act as an excuse, tell them that is not true and then instruct them to show your the section that states a car dealership must pull your credit. (It isn't in there)

Bonus lessons for new buyers:
1. Get your insurance before you go to pick up your vehicle.
2. Don't take the extended warranty. 3rd party like Endurance or MPP are much better and often cheaper.
3. If they say you owe X amount for an alarm they had to install on the lot, say NO, take it off.
4. Don't fall for leather or paint protection. It is a scam.
5. Don't get the window etching. You don't need your vin etched into your window. It is pointless.

I too have:
1. The check in hand from credit Union.
2. Insurance already done.

I request:
1. All dealer badges, stickers, license plate holders not be put on the car.
2. The car already be prepped before my arrival.
3. All paperwork be ready by the time I arrive.
4. That I be in/out as quickly as possible.
5. I make sure ahead of time they know I do not want their paint protection or interior protection
6. No need to show me how anything works in the vehicle.
7. Just let me sign whatever it is we need to sign and let me get on my way.

I’ve purchased, traded in, and sold 50+ vehicles in the last 15 years. The best buying experience I had was during the Summer Covid started when you couldn’t go inside the dealership. I was purchasing a Power Wagon and I spent all of 5 minutes at the dealer. When I pulled off the lot, I was in shock and remember saying to myself, wtf just happened. The car was prepped, the paperwork pre-printed, and the sales guy, not the “finance manager” had me sign everything. For fu<\$ sake, make that the norm. I love cars, but I absolutely hate going to the dealership.
