392XR Original ship date was 9/17, now it's pushed out to 10/10. It is honestly getting to the point where I don't even want the damn thing anymore. The XR package was forced on me, if it was a true option, as in I could opt out, I'd have had my Jeep a really long time ago.
Exactly why I refused to have it added to my 767737 in beginning of July since I already had a build date of July 19 and was told it would delay build until sometime in October. Since XR was not important to me, I wasnā€™t willing to wait.

To be fair mine is a regular 392 and still not shipped so anythingā€™s possible lol

hey guys,

I am an idiot so I really do not know what this all means but the normal 392 comes with 3.73 gears and the xr has 4.56. does the below mean that the xr will have significantly more power or is the additional power lost because of the larger tires.

from an old thread on the forumšŸ‘‡

This is a common misconception. While you are at the same rpms the 4.56 gears are putting more power to the ground. The engine produces about 250 ft lbs of torque from about 2000 rpms through about 3600 rpms. It is what our gears do with that more that makes the difference. Here is the math.

3.73

5th gear

3.73 = 2081 rpms = 250 ft lbs

3.73 x 250 = 932.5 x 2081 / 5252 = 369 hp

4th gear

3.73 = 2507 rpms = 250 ft lbs

3.73 x 250 = 932.5 x 2507 / 5252 = 445 hp

4.56 Gears

5th gear

4.56 = 2544 rpms = 250 ft lbs

4.56 x 250 = 1140 x 2544 / 5252 = 552 hp

As you can see 4.56 gear even in 5th still puts more power to the ground than 3.73 in 4th.

So I just got an email from the dealer that my XR392 has a tentative ship date of 9-30-21. Given the stats that are shown here, I'm wondering if that's possible?

Itā€™s the rotating mass of the XR pkg. Going to have heavier tires and wheels. Unsprung weight!

I'm trying to place an order for a 392. Yesterday I e-mailed the dealer (sales manager no less) the signed offer sheet, which just had pricing on it. I never heard anything back, so this morning I called and the sales manager said the order was "placed", but I never received any paperwork e-mailed to me saying it was placed or anything. I got a funny feeling and then e-mailed him a list of options earlier this morning I hand typed out in Word to make it crystal clear what I wanted. After I sent him my chosen options sheet, he said he'd give me a "final" very shortly, whatever that is, but never heard back. Here it is mid afternoon, several hours later, and still heard nothing. I think he's having issues placing my order, or he forgot some options and had to completely re-do the order, but that's just a gut feeling. If I wanted to track my order, what documentation should I ask him for? This guy I'm dealing with is the sales manager, and he has zero communication. I'm worried he screwed up my order.

Saw a video of this 392 that a dealer got in. I noticed that the mirrors, door handles and tail lights were body color matched. I am assuming this is not from factory. I really like it and was wondering where you think they got it done? Looks like it was done at the dealer maybe?

Itā€™s too get itā€™s power backā€¦because more rotation mass for the gears to spin. With stock gears on my Sahara with 35ā€™s my wheel horse power was like 150-160. Yes you heard me I dynoed my Jeep

Did they have ADM? The sticker next to the window sticker.

It may be that he canā€™t make the order in their system and is hoping itā€™s a temporary glitch. On my status update call this morning with my dealer he informed me that his system will no longer accept 392 orders. You may want to try another dealer like Chapman who seems to have a unlimited number of 392 allocations.

Just wanted to introduce myself to the group.

I had a '12 2 Dr JK sport that I bought with 178k miles on it. Loved it.
Was our get in and just go vehicle.
Also had a C7 Grand Sport Corvette that I bought in 2020.
Loved it too, but it mostly sat in the garage.
Sold the 'Vette in May since the market went crazy.
Bought our '21 Rubicon the next day.
It was supposed to be another Jeep just for running around.
Found ourselves drawn to a lightly optioned Rubicon instead.
Absolutely love it. It became our main vehicle. Used it for trips and found it way more comfortable than the wife's Santa Fe.
As it became our main vehicle, we found ourselves wanting a few things more.
Originally went to the Jeep site to price another Rubicon, but with the sky one touch roof and Alpine.
Ended up getting obsessed with the 392.
So...
I may be late to the party, but I'm soaking up all the knowledge you guys are laying down.

Was all over getting another Corvette, but it would have been a lot of money again for something that mostly went out for Cars and Coffee's.
The thought of the 392 giving me that muscle car fix, in addition to everything else that my wife and I love about the JLs just made more sense.

Thanks for all the good info, everyone!
Just hoping I can still get one! šŸ˜‰
