Just wanted to introduce myself to the group.

I had a '12 2 Dr JK sport that I bought with 178k miles on it. Loved it.
Was our get in and just go vehicle.
Also had a C7 Grand Sport Corvette that I bought in 2020.
Loved it too, but it mostly sat in the garage.
Sold the 'Vette in May since the market went crazy.
Bought our '21 Rubicon the next day.
It was supposed to be another Jeep just for running around.
Found ourselves drawn to a lightly optioned Rubicon instead.
Absolutely love it. It became our main vehicle. Used it for trips and found it way more comfortable than the wife's Santa Fe.
As it became our main vehicle, we found ourselves wanting a few things more.
Originally went to the Jeep site to price another Rubicon, but with the sky one touch roof and Alpine.
Ended up getting obsessed with the 392.
So...
I may be late to the party, but I'm soaking up all the knowledge you guys are laying down.

Was all over getting another Corvette, but it would have been a lot of money again for something that mostly went out for Cars and Coffee's.
The thought of the 392 giving me that muscle car fix, in addition to everything else that my wife and I love about the JLs just made more sense.

Dude, totally my story too. I’ve had 3 different Jeeps with 3 different C7s. Last was a Rubicon that I changed over to a Power Wagon and I sold the C7 Grand Sport. I miss the Grand Sport so much but am totally convinced this will be the mash up of both. Muscle car sound, not to shabby speed, and I absolutely love the Jeep. So I think this is my halo vehicle!

7/22/21 VIN 812921 Assigned and Status Update: At this present time, all of the materials that are necessary to build your vehicle are being received and the build process should begin very soon.

8/26/21 Email Status Update: I show your order remains prioritized for production and at the present time all of the materials that are necessary to build your Jeep Wrangler 392 are being received and the build process should begin very soon. Estimated production plan timing for
either the week of August 16th or the week of August 23rd.

9/17/21 Email Status Update: Good News! At this present time, your vehicle is currently progressing through the build process. Depending on your unique vehicle configuration, extra time may be necessary for extra options, packages, or factory features selected with your build. Your vehicle should be concluding this process shortly and moving forward to the inspection and quality checks of the process.

9/18/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Vehicle is currently in Trim : Engine and Interior and should be entering Inspection soon.

9/20/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your vehicle has been built and is pending installation of additional equipment. This is a necessary step when additional features or optional equipment packages are added to the vehicle. Currently no Dealer ETA has been provided. Please reach out to the Selling Dealer as they may have a more accurate date of arrival or status for you.

9/21/21 Contacted Jeep Status Update: Vehicle is in the shipping stage however a Dealer ETA has not been Provided.

That’s why your 392 took long the Jeep was in Hawaii time meaning “it’ll get there when it gets there” lol.

Finally, after 16 weeks... Now believing it's real!

I’m replying to my own post so the backstory is there, but my hunch was right. Late afternoon I get a call from the sales manager and he said they got the wrong color ordered. My heart sank. And, they left off the all weather floor mats I had chosen (But they were still glad to charge me for them apparently). Since the order had been placed already, it took some work for them to get the color choice corrected in the system, and the sales manager even had to get the regional manager involved to make the color change happen. He said it was a very rare thing, but the post-order color change was approved and I should be good to go. He said I should get some kind of confirmation tomorrow. He said he can just order the floor mats through the dealer system, it doesn’t have to be done through the factory build order.

I’m still very nervous this is going to get screwed up. I am working with this dealer because they’re close, have allocation and are selling at MSRP. No other dealer within a hundred miles of me or more can match all three of those attributes. So tomorrow I’ll update again and see if all is ok.

Ask them what color they put in by mistake? This way once you have the VIN and get the window sticker, you can tell if the color change went through or not... Hopefully, it all works out for you!

Maybe they will announce the 392 HELLCAT version of the wrangler with the XR package standard! So all of those who ordered a "regular" 392 will kick themselves and rush to the dealer to swap orders! LOL but kidding aside, this could be the 2 rows "regular" Grand Cherokee!

I just wish they would announce a 22 Jeep and tell us if the 392 will be available. If so, great, I’ll order a 22, if not, I’ll keep the sting gray I got coming or try to order a 21 with XR last minute. I know other people got bigger problems! I’m just tired of thinking about it!
