Thanks for your dedication!
Mine hasn’t moved to the sticker point yet, but still probably gonna order a 22 or a 21 with the XR, since the dealer didn’t get it on this one. Glad to have this one in my back pocket just in case. What is your gut feeling on the 392 in 22? I can order a 21 XR 392 tomorrow if you think no 22s at all?
Thanks again!

Membrain, any idea how many total wranglers have vins for 2021 and how many of the 4600 392s are xr? it isn't worth doing any new work I am just curious the % of 392s and of those xrs. my guess would be <5% 392 and of those <25% xr given how late it was introduced but that is just a shot in the dark.

No idea yet if there will be a 2022 392 Wrangler - I think the results over the next 2 months may provide an indicator, but FWIW, the "chip shortage" is becoming a "chip crisis" and while we all want new vehicles, this crisis will cause prices to climb even higher on those vehicles that do roll off the assembly line... the auto manufacturers will have (or already have!) to make a choice on which vehicles to produce for 2022... it will be interesting to see how the current administration will react if/when the auto industry says it needs govt support.

that is a good point. even if they sold every 392 they made, from everything I read there are a lot of "one off" bits involved and the xr is even more custom. I read a post on fb i think from someone at the plant who said they had never done 35s before so at least dropping that might make business sense until the supply chain and production are back to full speed.

gee... :) total wranglers? the VIN pool theoretically runs from 000000 - 999999

the earliest pre-production 392 VIN I have found is 500100
the latest confirmed and completed 392 VIN I have found is 830133
...with more rolling off the line every day.

Unfortunately, I am only tracking 392 VINs... XR or not... Rebel's list breaks out those that have noted XR on their orders, but this does not account for the whole XR392 production...

I have been able to track VINs for at least 33 different Wrangler trims, which is why I'm only working on the 392 for this effort.

My other spreadsheet has the capability to, if you have the last 6 and if it has been built, at least provide the exact trim (4xe/Sport/Sahara/Rubicon, 2/4 door, engine type, RH/LH drive)...
...but to try and determine this information for the complete VIN pool is outside my current scope of interest... :)

We are seeing a few dealers with anywhere from 30% - 50% ADM on a new 392... (they need the money to keep making profit)
On my current 392 alone, and knowing that a dealer's business model is to make a 20% profit minimum on every trade-in, consider this info using todays' stats:

2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with 1000 miles:
MSRP: $83710
Trade-in: $76875 - $86365 (average is $81620, but used car prices are also increasing as new car availability goes down)
Private Sale: $85875 - $93275
Retail (R): $87825 - $96075

$96075 - $83710 = $12365
20% of MSRP $83710 = $16742
20% of average trade-in $81620 = $16324
Max R $96075 less ~$16000 = $80075

~$80075 is what a dealer will offer me for trade on my current 392 so they can flip it for at least $96075 (depending on the local market)

The bottom line is to look at how much a consumer will actually pay for a new or used vehicle...

...also consider the number of vehicles damaged by the recent hurricane flooding which will drive those consumers to replace them... I foresee a big "ouch!" coming down the pipe...

...and you gotta LOVE those dealers still selling 392s below MSRP!

Your guess is as good as ours on a 22!

The only good thing with the prices if if you have Jeep to trade for a 392 you might actually have a very good deal especially if you saved money on the new jeep by going to a recommended one.

Yes, have looked around, but haven't found any with the options/color that I want. If I'm spending that amount of money, I don't want to settle on something. Just venting frustration...
Dealer told me today, that he vehicle is finally built and in trim stage. A light at the end of the tunnel...
