I hear ticking also - mine ticks as well .. could that be from this issue ?

Could be, diesels sound pretty “ticky” at idle when you get real close to the engine, especially smaller diesels like this one.

Thanks for posting this. Wife took 2020 Diesel to dealer. They told her 'that's how diesels sound'. After finding this post and crawling under the Jeep.....whadya know. Failed weld.

Dealer did same with me on unrelated issue .. lifted hood for 5 seconds and shuts it saying “yuo sounds like a diesel”.. also said “no code , absolutely nothing i can do for you” ..
These guys are NOT MECHANICS — their dealer code monkeys .. got a code ? Then they run to their computers to type it in , all the while diverting from your reasons you brought your jeep in..
anyway can capture the sound its doing while running ??

Freaking dealers, not only Jeep (but they are pretty bad) had a GT3RS with a suspension noise (tracked the shit out of the car 14K miles in 2 years). Had warranty and no one could find the issue.
My track mechanic found a loose shock tower in 15 seconds, vs 2 weeks at the dealer. These guys are scary …

So wife, with all her lady parts is at the dealer. Showed the video and Invoice Parratt so graciously posted.
She told the Service Manager it will just need to be welded up. The Service Manger says 'we don't get paid to weld'. He informed her 'we have to order the part, and it is on BO for three weeks.' He then proceeded to tell her there are no TSB's on 'how to fix it' (ie; weld it properly), and went on to explain to her what a TSB was.
They wonder why we go to Phoenix to spend 50K plus on cars.
What's happened to 'Customer Service'?
Does Jeep Care? Nope. If they did they would have a TSB out on this issue and not cause angst to customers having to wait three plus weeks to get a part then waste a ton of man-hours to replace the cat/bracket.
Here is hoping anyone else that has this issue has a dealership that knows how to 'fix things' w/o a TSB.

Sorry to hear about the dealership dicking you around.
My main dealerships been good and bad. Fixing stuff like this quickly, while also using the wrong oil in my Jeep. However the extended my warranty as compensation.
One of the local dealerships even offers emissions deletes with Warranty.

The weld on my DPF broke very early in ownership like many of you. I took it in to the dealer and told them about it and they welded it up and sent me out the door.
I would bet that many brand new DPFs have the same poor weld since it’s probably done by a machine. If the dealer won’t weld it take it to someone who can and have them run a new bead on the bracket. 10 minute job.
