And the dealership has fixed my jeep up!

Here is what they say was the issue.

Thanks for playing along at home folks. Cheers.

I had the exact same tab on my DPF break several weeks ago. I crawled under and found the broken tab vibrating back and forth.

My local dealer also re welded it, no issue since. They ordered me a brand new DPF which just arrived a couple days ago.

Hang on to the old one...you will either need it if you keep the rig over 100k miles or can make a pile of money on it earlier.

That is my plan. I’m wondering if they won’t let me keep it since it’s warranty work. We’ll see.

I was going to say... sounded like a loose part or a failed exhaust joint. Some of y'all were talking about rod knocking.

This just started on mine. Same weld. 24xx miles. Guess I'll be going in this week to hopefully have it welded back on.

Edit: Mine only makes noise when fully warmed up

Same!

Weird, Since they welded that for me.
First service advisor said we don't have a welder but I'm not your service advisor so let me grab them. Then my service advisor said they don't want the liability.
I'm not thrilled about them replacing it.

The noise was driving me crazy....

I just wanted to update others running into this issue. After my second trip into the shop for service, they found the exact same broken weld. I believe this is an going to be an issue with the Ecodiesels. My dealer took the bracket off and told me they are waiting for FMC to tell them what needs to be done. I have a feeling there may be a service notice and/or recall on this moving forward. Seems like too many of us our running into the same issues.

Good luck and happy trails......... :)

Same here. 3800 miles. 2020 eco diesel. Hopefully the same “easy” problem. Not a rod or bearing I hope. Would love to delete all that junk and open it up.
