Someone in another thread already counted turns on his 21 JLURD and confirmed less than 4. All of our build sheets state 3.73.
Thanks guys. My wife and I are looking to order one and want to make sure we get the correct info when we go to the dealer. Now if FCA puts out the Ocean Blue or Taco color, we"re good to go

I would have been really surprised for them to go to 4.10's... glad to hear it's just a typo somewhere on the site.

I’d be in for some 4.10s. Especially considering I’d be setting it on some 37s/40s.

I was at the dealer yesterday and he told me nothing has changed in the diesel from 2020 to 2021. He is the GM and he is getting a 2021 diesel himself and he confirmed 3.73 is the gears.

My jlurd is 3.73 on the build sheet and it seems to agree with counting the rotations of the driveshaft.
Maybe ill have to do it again and take a shoe off to make sure I count right

Hi, new to this site.
I am also questioning what my 2021 diesel Sahara Altitude has. The 2020 stickers on all the diesels that I saw, had 3.73 on stickers. On the 2021 diesel stickers, no mention of a 3.73, on any of them.
Building a 2020 diesel on the Jeep site, shows a 3.73 standard.. as well as the Anti-Spin as included.
On the 2021, no mention of either as included with the diesel, or the 3.73 as an option. Not sure why they are not listing them in black and white for 2021.

I wish they would offer the 3.73 as an option again for the 3.6L V6/6 speed manual, w/the JL Sport/Willys models. It use to be an option w/the JK line. It came w/my 2014 Willy's JKU, w/the limited-slip.

The 3.45 is just too high a gearing in my opinion for stock size tires, not only for highway driving, but off road as well.

Local driving, I tend to drive no higher than in 4th. On the interstate, doing 70, 5th and 6th gears, depending on any inclines along the way, where the power dies real fast, especially in 6th.

Off road, there too, the lower gearing would help a lot.

Eventually, I hope to swap gears, unless Jeep offers the 3.73/Limited-Slip as an option again, especially w/the Willys model, in which case I would buy that.

I would imagine, since the higher gears (5th and 6th) could then be used more effectively, that the mileage shouldn't be hurt much, if any.

For those wondering about the mysterious 4.10s showing up for 2021 diesels on the Jeep.com build tool. If you look here...

2021 Rubicon Diesel mileage numbers are lower than non-Rubicon.
In 2020 they were all the same.
I would bet that indeed the Rubicons Diesels now come with 4.10s
I have a 20/20 non Ruby model that came with all season tires I was getting hi 20s low 30s MPG before I put on my 35 muds now I averaged 23 with stock Wheels, that's why you're seeing the difference I lost 10 to 8 MPGs because of the larger Tire and rolling resistance of the muds. Don't forget the Rubicon sits an inch taller which means more are under the car. Diesels come with 373s that's it.

Soooo, I took my 2021 JLU Sport Altitude 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel in to have locking differentials installed and the mechanics were scratching their heads when they got it on the lift and pulled the gears apart. Dana 44s m210 and m220 with 4.10 gears. They actually counted the splines to make sure. So basically, it looks like they put the Rubicon axels and gears on mine. I am trying to figure out if it is all 2021 JLU Sport Altitude 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel's or for some unknown reason, maybe parts availability, just mine? When I log into Mopar and lookup the vin it says 3.73 but I am trusting the mechanics at their word sooo? Also wondering what my transfer case is at this point.
