So I pulled fuse 42 and disconnected the auxiliary battery negative cable. The JLURD now uses the main battery for start stop. I thought pulling the fuse and negative battery cable would make it go away?

Oh wait, do you mean you thought the auto start/stop would go away meaning you wouldn't have to push the button to disable it every time you start the vehicle? Nope!

But don't you fret none brother, all you do now is a little on-line shopping, plug this little rascal in and you'll never have to worry about that pesky ESS again, and trust me bro you did the right thing by disconnecting that confounded lawnmower battery, that problem will have surely, bit you in the a** someday.

This little device that works flawlessly is worth every penny. Mention you're forum member and I think you get a discount. $99. Best of luck bro ?

+1. The start stop start is first class. You still have the “capability”(?) of start stop if you should want it, BUT it stay where you put it. Push the dash button to turn it off and it stays that way?. I’ve had mine for a couple years and wouldn’t be without it.

As others have said, you'll need a device to disable it. Either get what @Flip mentioned or spend a bit more to get a crapload more functionality with a Tazer.
I have the Tazer but was hoping to go back to “stock”. Maybe I can plug in the Tazer and just not “marry it”.

The tazer will remember your ess setting, traction control settings, show you to adjust tire size, disconnect the seat bar in 2wd or at any speed, use lockers in 4hi or even the rear locker in 2wd, among other things. I wouldn't own a Rubicon without one. What is the gain of "going back to stock" you're eliminating the aux battery and the start stop which isn't "stock" anyway.

I had some electrical problems, not related I’m sure, but wanted to go a month too see if anything popped up. Otherwise Tazer is great, except for poorly written instructions written by a 12 year old.

I got a memory relay interrupter from Amazon for something like $35.00. So now, when I push the button on the dash-it remembers to keep the Start/Stop in the off position until I decide to push the dash button to enable it. It works great and it's a 5 minute or less installation! I noticed that the price on Amazon varies on a daily basis-as I only paid $32.00 for mine.

I know what you’re talking about. It is a pain to start with. But I have owned 3 vehicles that had this. I just hit the button on the dash and roll on. Just not a big deal when you get used to it.
