Some pictures from a Fourth of July trip to Gunnison National Forest. Lots of lovely dispersed camping.

New Avatar shot:

A river runs thought it. Nice golden hour shot:

Panoramic of the valley I camped in:

More Peaks... both of these surrounded the valley I camped in:

And another:

This little pond as probably at 11,500 ft and the drop off on the other side at maybe 3,000 feet down before back up to those mountains in the background. One of my favorite shots... looks like a water color painting:

Just to the side of the previous picture:

On the way back I saw my first Bull Moose... I've probably seen 30 moose, but never an adult male. This was pretty exciting!:

It was a great 2 night trip, let me know if you have questions.

Nothing too impressive. I have a simple 4 person REI tent with a big thick air mattress I can blow up with my ARB onboard air. I really want to ditch this in favour of a Ursa Minor pop-top and hammock setup within the next year.

Cooking comes from a single burner butane stove and a skottle.

For now, I’m content with just getting out and exploring Colorado and figuring out what I need along the way

This is almost exactly how we roll. Nice set up.
