I'd agree. There should not be that much space on either side of the bushing. Either the wrong bushing, bushing spacers, or sleeve maybe?

Never seen this much movement in a track bar joint before.

I'm not an expert by any means, but from my own experiences and from Reading several other threads regarding this and seeing several YouTube videos for people that have this it seems many of these smaller so-called fixes are probably just masking the issue or compensating for the issue. Yes they are probably the least expensive way of "correcting" things but the reality is at the heart of this issue has got to be the electronic power steering box/setup. Those who have shelled out the two to three thousand dollars to do a power steering conversion to a mechanical one (PSC) have all had the issues disappear. Correct me if I'm wrong, which I often am! If I was a betting man, no stabilizer , alignment, trackbar, steersmarts product, bushing, etc, will truly "fix" it, but will probably offset/hide the problems with the JLs electric power steering.

Sucks they have this setup in the JL which is in my opinion the weak link of the model. All in the name of saving a fraction of a mpg for the EPA! Thanks, feds. Thanks for your part in "ruining" a perfectly good jeep.

I still love my JLUR, though.

I had the PSC Overlander Kit installed on my Jeep and while it did correct the play, the pulling and wandering is as bad as ever and my Jeep is still a mess. My husband, whose JK is my avatar, says it drives worse than before. I’m always having to correct the steering on any road surface and any speed.

All others have had good results, tho.

Like I said, I'm often wrong! What, if any, lift and tire set up are you running

@RagTopDeluxe -Julie - refresh my memory, do you recall the caster setting they did on your Jeep during the PSC install?

caster supposed to help at around 6, but I haven’t tried it.. steering stabilizer and a trackbar got me 95% corrected

OK, this might be a little long, but if it helps someone, so be it:

I've felt there was a dead spot in the top of my steering. it doesn't wander, or wobble or do anything awful, but the steering feels "weird" to me in the middle.

I finally got curious and started the Jeep and hung out the side to move the steering wheel and see if there was a delay or what the heck was happening.

Here's what I found: There was no delay. Even the smallest movement of the steering wheel and the wheels turned.

So based on this, I've figured out that the steering works, there is just a delay as to when I actually start feeling feedback from the wheel. So I surmise what I had been doing was "oversteering" which led to me then having to "overcorrect" back the other direction as a result. Which would lead to a lot more steering than necessary.

Over the last week or so, I have been trying to steer less, trusting that the wheels are moving, and not waiting for the feedback from the wheel.

This has resulted in less correction, and overall a much nicer driving experience. It's still weird, just less so.

TLDR, if you're dealing with a weird "dead spot" and no major craziness, try putting less input into the steering wheel.

I hope that made sense, and I hope it helps.

EDIT: Just realized this may be the wrong thread, but I'll leave it just in case. There are so many steering threads!

I have a 19 and have the issues and its never been fixed! Even with the new recalled parts and a new trackbar all Jeep OEM parts which just made the wheel wheel stiffer, road force alignment recent done and discovered a -10 on alignment and still didn't fix it!! -a buyback is in full review as we speak from FCA, its hella frustrating between the vibrations felts while driving and the constant correction needed on the wheel to prevent left or right drifting -

I have less than half inch dead spot or sloppy play with no steering effects.
It only bother me when at highway speed.
Mime is 2020, is there any recall or new parts I should ask for?

same with me, i have tried this and it works at slower speeds, but try taking it over 65-70+ and you will notice that it becomes scary to steer it in tighter spaces such as construction zones/narrow lanes.

i also have a 2020 Sahara Altitude, there is no recall for 2020's , just contact @JeepCares and they will hook you up with a case specialist.
Good luck!
