Many thanks for the helpful replies. After agonizing over the decision for a while, today I put a deposit on a 2021 JL in Granite Crystal with the 3.6l V6 w/etorque, technology package, and LED lighting. I am taking delivery at 1pm tomorrow and saying goodbye to my trusty JK.

Today I test drove two new 2020 JL Wrangler 2-door.. The first (3.6, 12/19 build date) was not equipped the way I wanted it but I love the way it drove. The dealer found me one at a nearby dealership (2.0 turbo, 3/20 build date) with all the equipment I want but once I pulled it off the lot it was immediately obvious that it had the dreaded steering issue---pulled hard to the right and needed constant correction on the highway. The dealership will offer to have the new steering gear box installed but I am wondering if I should just wait for the 2021. Any advice?
About the only big thing for 2021 is the 2.0T Hybrid. It's not available for order yet (maybe December?). Most everything else is the same as the 2020, except the price continue to climb. There's a $600 camera for the front grill, but most folks haven't needed one since 1941...

I'd definitely order a new 2021 at this point. My friend just got her 2021 JLR yesterday after ordering about 4-6 weeks ago.

One of the best additions for 2021 is the option for full time 4 wheel drive on all models. Here in snow country thats a nice feature.

I test drove several 2020 Willys models and none of them had hardly Any optional equipment and they were charging top dollar for them. Found a great dealer, ordered a 2021 with everything we wanted and paid almost $1500 less than what other dealerships were charging with no real options. Down side is it took almost 3 months to get here, up side is we got our dream Jeep. Well worth the wait!!

I agree with the ones above who say order the 21 and get exactly what you want. Nothing like getting what you want vrs. what they want you to have :)

So how does the V6 with wTorque drive compared to the 4 turbo? I pick up mine next week.

Etorque really only works at very low rpms. I think only up to 1500, but don't quote me on that. So it helps get the jeep moving. Also, it does make start stop MUCH more transparent.
3.6 vs 2.0T That's a holy war all on it's own and won't bother getting into that one. It's like calling someone's baby ugly :)

Enjoy your Jeep. Your going to love it!

I'd just get a 2021 that you know is fresh and exactly the way you want it. One thing with this Wrangler line is there are just so many options. While that's great, it's also sometimes tough finding exactly what you want.

I'm also just not really a fan of getting a "new" car that has been sitting on the lots for extended periods of time. At least where I am in Upstate NY, it could've already been exposed to a winter and already been subjected to elements. I know in the past I've looked at these types of cars and you can already be getting signs of light rust on some areas like the brake parts or whatever.

I was just like the OP and searching for a Rubicon. I started looking in July/August of 2020 and checked out a couple vehicles but I would've had to settle for something I didn't really want in terms of color, options or whatever. And pickings around me were pretty slim.

Finally decided a couple weeks ago to just order a 2021 and wait it out. I've never ordered a vehicle before and kinda looking forward to getting one hot off the press. And excited knowing I'll be getting and paying for exactly what I want.

The wait is tough though ;)
