2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited (automatic shifting issue)

Anyone else experienced the Jeep NOT wanting to go into any gear?! I was stuck for awhile with a message on the dash saying .."vehicle not in park..shift to park then to a gear" ( not that EXACT saying but something similar. Any advise?

I'm pretty confident it was shut tight..I didn't see any "open door" lights.

To be more specific, that's what happens when you have an open door and an unbuckled seatbelt.
