Thanks for posting that link. I see they recommend the engine oil meet MS-12991. I had hoped the same oil spec would apply from the gen2 Eco and Cummins, which Rotella T6 5W-40 was one of the approved. I don’t see that spec mentioned on the Rotella site however.

Do any of you have more info on this?

I would love to see the universal backlash against the various governments of the world if gas engine vehicles started threatening to or actually shutting down for every fault code you see on diesel vehicles. Now that DPFs are being mandated on gas vehicles, you’d think the same ridiculous exhaust malfunction rules would apply (but probably won’t).

At any rate, coming from VW diesels, this fuel/water separator valve and post-filter-replacement fuel priming system is MUCH more user friendly. Glad they put some skid plates over that system on the rubicon too.

it seems that Chrysler's way of Adopting this "Standard" is through an approval process, other Standards may work and be better, but I'm not wanting to get involved in all that. This is a short list of Chrysler MS-12991 (Rotella T6 5w-40 is not approved for MS-12991 as of today 1/11/2020)

Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40
Ravenol 5W-40 VST
Valvoline 5W-40 MST SynPower
Shell Ultra Helix 5W-40
