Hello everyone,

New to the forum and new to the Jeep life.

Here’s a little intro to how I got into this hobby, I mean lifestyle. For the past few years I’ve rented a few JK’s to use for work and always thought they were kind of fun to drive. Never really knew or thought about what jeeps were actually capable of. Not until I happened across a white Willy’s edition in the Hertz parking lot. Driving around in those mud terrains made me want to feed them more than just pavement. I found an off-road park nearby, loaded up the family, and put the Willy’s to the test. Nothing too crazy ait was a rental after all, but we did hit the skid plates pretty good a few times (don’t tell Hertz lol). After that trip, plus a newly found addiction to watching Jeep videos, we knew we had to have one for ourselves.

Come February of 2020, we brought home this. :involve:

So I’ve had the Jeep for a few months now and I’m itching to start the build. Here’s what I’ve got on my list so far:

Wheels/Tires

  • Cooper STT Pro 37x13.50x17
  • Fuel Covert Beadlocks Matte Black

Suspension/Steering

  • Rancho 3.5” Lift w / Adjustable Control Arms
  • Rancho RS9000XL shocks
  • Synergy Heavy Duty Adjustable Drag Link
  • Synergy Heavy Duty Adjustable Tie Rod
  • Synergy Track Bar Reinforcement Bracket & Sector Shaft Brace

Exterior

  • Front Bumper (I may keep the factory steel bumper. Not sure yet)
  • Rear Bumper (Haven’t decided yet. I know the factory steel rear can’t take a hit, so will probably need replacing)
  • RedRock Spare Tire Relocation Bracket
  • Warn Winch Plate for Factory Steel Bumper
  • Warn Zeon 10S Winch
  • LOD Destroyer Rocksliders

I already picked up the tires from Discount Tire last weekend and the new wheels arrived yesterday. Will hopefully start mounting the beadlocks tomorrow. Also checked them against the Jeep already. Couldn’t help it.

Looking good, those wheels are sharp. Love the factory steel bumper too. To mount a winch, be sure to get a warn 101255 (I think that’s the part number) that’s the mounting plate the winch sits on and also has a license plate bracket that’ll go under the fair lead.

Beadlocks arent bad, just time consuming. If you have any questions, please let me know.

what part of texas are you in? If local, feel free to swing by and talk jeeps. We’re working on adding more obstacles to our back pasture for messing around on!

Nice! Your plans sound great and this thread will be one I'd definitely watch over time. I picked up 2020 Rubicon also at autonation but in white (the pink plate was first thing I changed). I'm completely new to the Jeep world. So not only interested what you do to your vehicle but any issues that arise from trial and error of even the warranty dept with autonation throughout the process.

Your car is beautiful and no doubt will look even more incredible as you continue to develop it.

Thanks for the part #. I had seen it online but never saved it. Looks like amazon has it.

Also, I’m in the Houston area. Not too far from you. Will definitely have to meet up when I get the major stuff done.

Congrats on your new Rubicon!

I also removed the pink plate right away lol. I’ve just been riding around with no plate in the front for the meantime.

Also, I will definitely post up any issues and/or fixes that come up.

So I’ve already run into issues lol... :headbang:

Beadlocks are no joke! Spent most of the day today on them and only got 2 done. I don’t know if it’s the wheels I got or the tires or maybe it’s just normal, but I was fighting to get the front bead set before putting the beadlock ring on. I felt like I needed eight arms to hold all around so the bead wouldn’t pop out on one side when I got close to the end. I got my wife to help me with the first one but she quit after that. After getting heated and having a few choice words on the second one, I decided to run to Lowe’s and look for some washers to possibly hold the bead down. This worked like a charm. Just stacked some washers and dropped in a couple bolts and it held the bead down pretty well. Here’s some pics if anyone is attempting Beadlocks.

Got all the wheels done. It went pretty well after using the washers to help seat the front bead.

Dropped them off this morning at Discount Tire to get balanced. Once done I’ll try mounting them without a lift and see if there will be any rubbing issues.

Got the RedRock spare tire relocation bracket installed. Had to trim some of the outer insulation on the wires for the backup camera and brake light to get some slack as the tire carrier sits a little higher now. Also, it probably wasn’t needed but I added some masking tape to the mounting surface to keep from scratching the paint on the tailgate.

37’s with no lift!!

Finished installing the new tires last night. After removing the end caps from the front bumper, the only rubbing issues are the rock rails at the front when the wheels are turned at full lock. There also might be some rubbing on the rear inner fender liner if I hit a good bump. I only plan on staying like this for a week or so until I get the lift installed.

Also, I may have gone a little too aggressive with the offset on these wheels. I went with -38mm OS/ 3.6in BS. They offer the same whee with -15mm OS/4.5in BS which probably would been a better option. I still love the look though.

Looks great, I was all over the place when it came to rims as I am obsessed with black rims but decided to go outside my comfort zone and decided to go with bronze.

I seriously considered bronze also. I think it looks really good with the Granite Crystal color. But in the end I had to go with the black lol.
