Your hobby or vehicle electronics (and your shop) leaves me jealous. I'd give it a try on a 57 Chevy but I can't even run my iPhone some of the time. It looks like you have all the skills to make it run again. The most appropriate name would be Lazarus in lieu of Rubicon.

I cant click the "watch this thread" box quick enough.

Love seeing shit like this.

Are you just bringing her to stock or are you going to make it the next SEMA rebuild?
Same here. This thread is fascinating. I used to work as a dispatcher for an insurance company and would regularly cruise Copart Auctions while working on assignments for my Field guys. OF course, I would mostly check Jeeps. There were a handful of "Flood damage Total loss" Rubis of every variety and color that had less than 10k mi on them. I often wondered if they could be resurrected or if they truly were a lost cause due to potential mold and electricals. This thread answers that question.

Hey.. I also love vehicle electronics... have you by chance done any CANBus hacking of the JL ?...

I started a little project using a ESP32 with a CANBus shield for extracting the data from both IHS and C buses .. it sends the data to my laptop via USB-Serial ... the app I use on the laptop is an open-source app coded in Python and developed by brilliant Adam Varga (that is his youtube channel name) ..

I started playing with it.. I was able to determine the packet values for the turn signals but I had to put the project on standby to work on some other stuff.. but it promises to be a fun project and I will most likely create a public database with whatever data I extract in the future..
Post up your progress, please. I'm not super well versed in this stuff but would LOVE to learn.

I haven’t labeled as much as I should; but I have pics, worse case I do have access to FCA tech authority which may help me out on the reassembly. And Thank you

Fantastic! Thanks for the effort on this project… fun to watch so far…. One last question… any idea on the size of the boat he was trying to recover? Trying to get a handle on the original issue. Tires looked decent…he experienced? Overloaded?
Not sure on the size of the boat, but Lake Michigan is by no means a lake you go out on a Dingy. I assuming the boat launch was covered in slim or oil and the Jeep was most likely only in 2 wheel drive

Wow.
I think that one wire with the thingy connects to that other one with a thingamajig in order the make the whatchamacallit transfer power to the whoseitwhatsit. Technically speaking of course.

UPDATE!!

The main interior wiring has been installed, the dash harness has been removed, waiting on the other harness before I reinstall that one since the one missing runs from under the hood to inside and is easier to work with when the dash harness is out of the way.

So what you're saying is that bigger wires would give more HP? Awesome!
