I bought a brand new 2019 JL Sport on August 2nd of this past year. Needless to say I love the vehicle and it is a blast to drive. (have not done much offroading yet). A few days after I brought it home i started to smell anti-freeze but i figured some may have dripped when they filled the jeep up and it ran down. A few more weeks goes by and i notice that my anti freeze is low and i can still smell it.
Then i found a drop of it on the ground in the garage one day while installing a new bumper. I called the dealer ship and they told me to bring it in on September 1st. September 2nd they called me and told me that i had a defective water pump and that it had to be replaced.
They said the part would arrive in two days. I left my jeep there and called the following Thursday to see if the part had arrived and it did not. I called the next day (Friday) and they said the part still has not arrived and that it was 3-5 days out. Since this is my only means of transportation, I had to have the vehicle and i told them i was coming to pick it up. I drove the jeep and kept an eye on the coolant level every day. I had to call the dealership back the following week to see if the part came in and it was there.
They told me to bring it in this past Sunday (September 15th) and drop it off over night since they cannot work on it while the engine is hot. They told me that it would be done by lunch time Monday (September 16th). I called them at 1:30 pm Monday and the said they havent even started on it. At this point im starting to get frustrated but im still trying to be patient with them.
I call them the next morning (Tuesday, September 17th) and they told me it would be ready by 1 pm. I called at 1:15 pm and they said it would be another 30 or 45 minutes because the mechanic is filling up the coolant and is going to test drive it. They called me back right before i walked out the door and told me now there is a problem with the auto start/stop system and that it was showing a warning light. So i had to leave it over night....again. This time they provided me with a Nissan Altima through Enterprise rental.
I got a call today (September 18th) this morning saying that the jeep is ready to be picked up. So i drove to the dealership and picked it up and everything ran fine. I got home and about 30 minutes later i walked out and theres another drop of anti-freeze on the ground in the garage. I called them back and said that it is still leaking. Service guy told me that it could be residual left over from when they drained it. So i drove it to work and checked it about 45 minutes after i got to work. Now theres a puddle about the size of the palm of your hand in the parking lot. I called them back and they said i will need to bring it in again to have them check it out.
I called the dealership manager and he did nothing for me and told me i should call FCA. I called FCA and they opened a case on my jeep and said they would get back to me in 1-4 business days. I am curious what you guys think i should do about this situation and just looking to get some input on this.
