It's finally time to equip my stock 2019 JL Sahara with a lift kit, etc!
I am ditching the 31" tires and 18" wheels for 35x12.5 tires on 17x9 wheels.
I want to preserve the TPMS functions on the new wheels so I either have to move the old TPMS sensors from my old/stock wheels or get new TPMS sensors. Also, I notice that my TPMS system only reports each of the four mounted tires and not the spare tire.
So here are my questions:
1. Recommendations on move stock TPMS sensors to the new wheels?
2. Where can I get budget friendly new TPMS sensors?
3. What frequency does the Jeep JL TPMS sensor system use? 315MHz or 433MHz?
4. What about a TPMS sensor on the spare tire? Should the TPMS sensor report for the spare tire in my normal JL Sahara display? Does a lack of data indicate a lack of TPMS sensor in my spare now or does the system only display pressure for four tires?
5. When it comes to learning, I understand that the JL TPMS system will auto-learn which tire has which pressure without having to program unique sensor ids into it. Is that correct? Where can I read more about this process?
Thanks in advance!
