I am the proud owner of a fully loaded 2019 JL Rubicon 2 door auto with the 2.0L turbo. Does indeed seem to be a rare bird. Very happy with my choice so far. Time will tell.

The hard top looks pretty good on the 2-door. I am regretting not getting the hard top. I wanted dual top but since it is not offered I went with the premium soft top. Is it possible to order a body colored hard top from the dealer?

That makes sense if 2-doors and 2.0L turbos are less popular, those will be the ones that are left on the dealer lots.
It's quite the opposite when it comes to dealer inventory - atleast in the large dealership here.
They had eight 2 Dr Rubicons , ALL of them with 2.0 Turbo.
When they first started building the 2019 Rubicons, a Rubicon 3.6 Automatic 2 Door was on restriction. Dealers had to mark the orders as "sold orders", for customer specific orders. So I imagine most of the 2 door/2 liter Rubicons on dealer lots are on lots because that is what they were making, they were only making 3.6 2 door Rubis for customer orders. Not sure if it is still that way.

Most of the combinations go on restriction towards the end of a month. I ordered my first one on 9/13 and all of the combinations were available. The only allocate so many of each combination/option each month and once they have enough orders, things get restricted

I just ordered a 2.0 JLR this week. I think a lot of people prefer the tried and true 3.6. They want the jury to weigh in on the 2.0. They're leery of the eTorque and don't like a 48 volt battery hanging under their Jeep. It's in a waterproof protected case so that doesn't bother me. And besides FCA will fix it under warranty if it has a fault. I've read enough reviews where people like the eTorque assist and the punch the 2.0 delivers. Although the 3.6 has more torque from a stop, the 2.0 delivers more torque over the upper 2/3 of the power band.

I also like the classic look of a 2 door, despite the lack of storage. We don't have to haul kids and hardly use our back seat. I'll flip ours up or take it out. I also like the better breakover angle of the 2 door. I believe the Wrangler sales are about 80% 4 door, 20% 2 door.
I'm with you on the turbo. Turning my leased 2013 Mini Cooper back in soon, which has a 2.0L turbo, and will be getting the Unlimited Rubicon with the turbo. This will be my 3rd Wrangler. My other two, 2002 and 2012, were both 2-door manual transmissions. I wanted something different and more spacious and smoother on the pavement as to why I will be opting for the 4-door. The look of the 4-door Wrangler has taken awhile for me to appreciate. The 2-door definitely has the "iconic look".

Very nice! I did my tow package aftermarket, ended up being much cheaper than factory (and a very easy mod), considering the limited use mine will get for towing.

I see four 2-door rubicon 3.6 V6 builds show up on the build sheet tracker today but none for the 2.0L. All four of them were ordered at least a month after mine. A 2-Door Rubicon 2.0L Turbo is definitely a unicorn.

I wouldn't say that. When I ordered my 2 door 3.6 Rubi in October it was on restriction. The dealers were only able to order 2.0 2door Rubis for their own stock. I wouldn't mistake the build sheet tracker as an indicator for general sales or builds.
