Ya know it occurred to me the hardest part here would be getting ATF level correct again, unless the TC will definitely slide off with the trans.

If not you're gonna lose some ATF everytime you separate engine and trans.

I guess you'll also lose some the second you disconnect the cooler lines....

A pesky new wrinkle with these damn new 8 speeds

So that'd be my greatest concern if this is repaired under warranty - did they take the time to do the fluid level check procedure properly

Coolant is pink in the JL....JFYI

Got confirmation from dealership today - pin hole leak in radiator. Of course, radiators are on back order, so I’m told. Needless to say, I ain’t happy. WTF?

I got confirmation today also that it’s the rear main seal leaking and wasn’t in stock so now I have to wait for one to show up

I noticed there's no tranny dipstick.

Is this one of those autos you have to fill via a pump set up?
Have you not seen the videos? It's virtually an all day process.

Dealer said that they have never had to do this before on a new Jeep... really who says that to a customer

had my 8hp70 done by my freind who is a tech at local Jeep store, 5.7 overland. changed the pan/filter and refill. there is a procedure to get the fluid up to temp and shift thru all the gears, not complicated when level on a lift with scan tool, fill until it comes out the fill hole, took 7 qts of zf 8/9 spd fluid.

wrangler pan is steel and not sure about the filter, the wk2 is integrated in the pan, got mine at cost was 100$.
it is an expensive fluid, found it online for7$ a qt, but double that list

Any word on your rear main seal? Mine is leaking as well and I was told the same back ordered with no date available.

Any follow up on these? People have been raving about these engines but this is concerning.
