Betting it’s 6 speed bsg and not diesel because it’s available on the 2door. Would love a V8 though!

Does this mean dealers can take orders on these engine codes starting right now?

The red means restricted or unavailable. The good news is the codes exist, so they could become available next allocation (Oct 10th as someone else mentioned) but that remains to be seen.

So when I ordered my 23B package on 9/15 my order showed the 23B package as Restricted and highlighted in Yellow. Does anyone know what this means? Jeep Chat and my dealer couldn't tell me anything.

Is the Diesel just for the JLU or can the diesel be ordered on a JL?

I find it mildly comical that there was so much backlash about “FCA needed to work out some of these bugs before releasing a model” and yet people are lining up to buy a version that hasn’t even been announced yet... and that version has an engine it’s never been paired with.

But that’s none of my business...

Just because I’m a green thumb when it comes to diesel technicalities: Is the 3.0 CRD different than the (fully expected) Eco diesel? Or is it the same thing with more than one name?

The Eco and CRD are the same engine or no? They put the CRD in the KJ, correct?

I was excited about the 3.0L until CA gov't decided to throw a heavy diesel tax that makes it more expensive than premium gas![/QUOTE

Diesel is more expensive in Cali but still diesel is worth it because of significant better mpg. I drive a full size diesel sedan & my wife drives a full size diesel suv. We get 42mpg from our sedan and 32mpg out of our suv easily. We have had multiple diesel trucks and suvs over past 15 years and never had any issues with relaibility or maintenance.
Super excited about the diesel JLU, now just have to find a dealer that will work with 5% under invoice pricing.

Other good sources to watch for clues are the CARB and EPA certification sites (the latter I can’t recall exactly where to find from my phone). Here is the CARB site: https://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/cert/pcldtmdv/2019/2019.php

Assuming that FCA will want to sell the diesel in California too, we should expect to see an “executive order” at some point showing the certification and it would need to show up before the vehicles are offered for sale.

Given that the 3.0 diesel hasn’t been certified for sale in any other 2019 model year FCA vehicles yet (only for 2018 GC and Ram 1500), it may be a while yet.

So how long into 2019 will the non-BSG 3.6L autos still be available?
