So I have 2 JLUs one is a 2019 and the engines sounds pretty normal for a Chrysler suv American vehicle. I have my 2021 nacho for about 3 months now and I notice the engine sounds kind like a diesel (froggy if that makes sense) for the first 10min or so. Just wondering if there are any differences between the 2 to make the 2nd one sound this way. They are both Sport-S models.

I think all 2021 AT 3.6 models are now eTorque. Only about 1k miles on my JLUR with 3.6 w/ eTorque and I notice some clatter, but can't say it sounds different than the outgoing '20 AT 3.6 w/o eTorque I had previously.

My 2018 V6 has always sounded a bit diesel-ish. I was a little concerned at first but checked a few other V6s and they all sound about the same. I believe the fuel injectors are just really noisy for some reason.

My 2021 is non eTorque and sounds exactly like the one I had in my 2020.

The difference between my ‘13 and ‘21 is that the ‘21 sounds more “throaty” in a good way. The ‘21 actually sounds more smooth too, no clatter.

Well, I have been asking about all the "Chambers and Boxes" on the 2021 air intake and have been schooled about the Helmholtz resonator. Basically it's all about the sound. My girlfriend's stock 2017 JK with the 3.6 just has a straight tube similar to the CAI's offered. Could explain some sound differences.

When comparing a 2019 to a 2021, there is no difference in the intake.

Actually, The "tube" from the airbox to the throttle body is in FACT different.

The difference is an ESS motor to BSG motor, comparing apples to apples there is no difference.
