Fits in there perfectly, what is it exactly? Is that mil surplus?Figured out the storage for when we take a long road trip.
Have to do a small fibreglass repair to one corner and attach some d-rings so we can tie it down to the rear seat mounts.
I might have to take it down to our Military surplus store one weekend to find out exactly what it is (also see if there’s another as this one has a damaged corner - have a fibreglass repair kit waiting if needed, although the case is plastic I think).Fits in there perfectly, what is it exactly? Is that mil surplus?
Glad you like it.Read the whole build thread and really like it.
About the factory wheels with 12.5" width tires. Any issues with rubbing at full steering turn lock? Were the turn stops (i think those are on the knuckles, or they used to be on TJs) needed to be adjusted for full turn lock?
Thanks, and again nice Jeep.
It was smart to have dealership install hardtop harness. I read instructions and seems pretty involved.
I was told it held equipment to upgrade some jets. It would be interesting to know more about it.Steve,
current military here. Given the data plate on that case (hard to make it out from that pic but looks like there’s an NSN on it), I would bet that it was a hard case used for some big computer system or something for the Canadian armed forces. That looks just like the type of container that would hold any number of systems we use in the American military (CPOF, Raven UAS, OSRVT, you name it). Could you post a clearer pic of the data plate?
anyway, nice jeep!
oh- CATEF? I’m afraid that’s classified.I was told it held equipment to upgrade some jets. It would be interesting to know more about it.
It's the Harris Consolidated Automatic Test Equipment Facility. Harris is major communication\computer supplier for the CAF. Your case is a Pelican case made for a a specific piece of equipment I imagine.Lol, of course.
