Not part of the build as such but we became a 2 Jeep family last week - my wife bought a 2020 KL Trailhawk Elite in Hydro Blue.

In another little flurry of activity I found someone selling a “used” (3 weeks old) hardtop, another person selling almost new Mopar performance rock rails and the Mopar Cold Air Intake finally came in (dealer installed as cutting the hood isn’t my idea of fun...lol).

Are you happy with the Mopar Cold Air Intake? Do you see/hear/feel a difference? I purchased one a few weeks ago have not installed yet. However I’m concerned about the label on the box from Mopar “This part is designed and intended for use in competition vehicles driven on tracks or off road. Vehicles equipped with this part should not be driven on public roads or highways.” Whats with the warning? Let me know your thoughts please.

I purchased the Mopar Cold Intake a few weeks ago however I’m somewhat concerned with the warning on the box.
Are you happy with the install? Do you notice see/hear/feel difference with the cutout?
Your thoughts would be very helpful before I cut my hood. Thanks

In the instructions it states it’s for on road use....

it states the cutout is optional (if you decide not to use yours I’ll buy it from you as a spare), most of the time the flap is closed on mine - we get heavy snow in winter and heavy rain in early summer here. You can feel a bit of a difference whether the flap is open or closed. There is a little bit more intake noise but barely noticeable.

Added the MOPAR Cold Air Intake to my 2020 Wrangler Willys Edition - With the vent open - its definitely much more throaty and responsive. No effect at low RPM - Gotta Rev and Go - Higher the Revs the Sweeter it Sounds!
When the Vent is Closed can hear a slight difference but not like when its opened.
I sat on this project for a month - installed the receiver and cover out of the box, however was hesitate to cut the hood (part 2) until I read this post and saw some pictures. The Cutting of a new hood was very nerve wrecking and its easy to make mistakes. However small flaws can be covered by the bezel.
Very happy after I finally decided proceed, not only does it look good it actually performs well as well!

Looks good and, unlike the Rubicon it doesn’t result in a cutoff decal :).

So i wasn’t really happy about how I’d run the wires for the under hood lighting. I’d pretty much just slung it under the hood liner and called it done. Today my OCD got the better of me and I re worked it.

The wiring was fed down the void along the outside edge of the hood and then run across by the washer hose. I bought another washer hose assembly so I’d have something to tie it to on the passenger side.

I debated leaving the hood liner off but when I was finishing up I realized where the hood vent drainage holes are - a bit too close to the battery on one side and the ECU on the other. Long story made short, the liner is back in place.

A couple of parts are on the way (changing out the fairlead & steering stabilizer), hopefully both come by the weekend.

Meanwhile, new plate arrived today, couldn’t wait to get the tags and put it on :).

Installed the Falcon EF 2.2 adjustable steering stabilizer late last night - haven’t had chance to drive her yet but perhaps as well since the stock carriage bolt sheared off with such velocity that it propelled itself out of the hole and to the far side of the garage. I used one of the shorter ones for now but also ordered a new one which should be here tomorrow.

Do you remember what size you drilled the clip hole out to since you replaced the plastic clip? I destroyed my clips and tore some of the liner when I installed my hood decal tonight. Looking to install some under hood lighting before I secure it all back together.

I drilled a 1/8” hole next to the clip hole in case I wanted to re-use the clip hole. The screw holding the cyclone holds up the corner of the liner. The 1/8” hole is the only “permanent” part of the installation, everything else would be reversible.

Thanks - I’m not mechanically inclined at all, haha.

The next couple of mods are on their way...going with the Teraflex adjustable rear track bar and chromoly tie rod (Hoping that will raise the steering stabilizer out of harms way).

It’s not something I ever thought to take a picture of and the hardtop is currently on the Jeep. I’ll probably switch it over in April or May so if I don’t remember to post a pic for you by then please remind me.
