So my new and first Wrangler has 550 miles on it and is less than 1 week old. Just yesterday I noticed a slight squeaking noise when slowly pressing the clutch in or releasing it. Today is worse and louder. I took it around the block and it still seems okay but the squeak is horrible and makes this nice new Jeep sound cheap! Also occasionally especially when merging on a freeway and upshifting from 2nd to 3rd around 3000-4000 RPMs, it makes a grinding noise going into 3rd. During downshifting this has never happened. It's possible it could be driver error, but it hasn't happened in any other gear, just 3rd. Could this somehow be related to the clutch problems and noise? I love my Jeep but am disappointed in the fact it's brand new and having issues :(. Any thoughts before I take this thing in for fixing?

Also, can I take it to any Jeep Dealer?? The one I purchased it at is 3 hours away!

I'm going to try and attach the video of the sound. Any ideas of a quick fix or do I need to service this already? Other than this, love my Jeep!

Lol thatā€™s pretty terrible. Wish I could help but you have something defective! 3500 Miles on mine and no noises

And yeah you can and should take it to the dealer

Oh yeah and I experience the grinding noise as well. I have to be very very careful to avoid it. No quick shifting. Basically off gas..clutch in..shift..off clutch..gas. I know that sounds normal but this is the only manual Iv ever experienced this. You canā€™t hit the gas at all until the shift is 100% complete.

I definitely lose speed because of it while going up hill.

Many people have expereinced this issue as well

Yes! 100% same thing. I'm going to be making an appointment with a Jeep service dealer and hope it's fixable, but I really need this ride and worried it's going to take days and still be bad. We shall see.

Let me know what they say about the shifting. It only happens once the rpmā€™s get higher like you said

Are you planning on getting this noise inspected by the dealer, intentsrig? As mentioned to other forum members, our team can help with the servicing process if needed. We can be contacted by direct message if interested.

This was common on JK. I ended up spraying the teflon bushing down with some penetrating lube and it killed the squeak for a while. Manuals make a lot of noises. Pedal bushing noise, synchro noise, throwout bearing noise, etc.

BPrince, did you ever get this resolved? My JLUS just developed the exact same squeak as yours after 6500 miles of quiet clutch pedal. I think it's coming from the spring assembly about mid-way up the clutch linkage. Tried WD-40, silicone spray, and white lithium grease with no luck.

@BPrince...

How old are you? At my age, I don't think I could tell the difference between the creaks that the Jeep makes and the creaks that my joints make... :(
