Hello, so I’m looking to buy a JL, used, low miles. A lot of good deals out there on 2018s, is there anything majorly different between a 2018 JL and a 2020 JL? And major bugs, defects that were fixed from launch to present? Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

2018-2019 mfg steering box has aluminum components. Steering performance may degrade as the metal warms during use. If buying used, check it out. Some are replaced with the now standard steel steering box which is in 2020-2021 models.

2018-2019 if buying a manual, the clutch may be replaced or lines near it reinforced due to potential fire risk.

I think most/all 2020's have the aluminum boxes as well. 2021 and perhaps some late 2020's were what got upgraded to the iron box.

Not sure what part of Kansas you’re in but I’ve had great luck with Troy Pratt at Gladstone Jeep in the KC area!
