Hi guys. New forum member here.

Just got my special order 2018 JLUR in August. It has 4,300 miles. Love it but...

Engine won't restart when up to operating temp but, shut off for 15 to 60 minutes. So if I drive it for an hour, shut it off and then try to restart it after 15 to 60 minutes the starter runs but, the engine won't fire.

Took it to the dealer Monday and they finally looked at it today (Friday). They think it's the fuel pressure regulator which is part of the fuel pump assy located in the fuel tank. Sounds right to me. No fuel pumps available I'm told. May be a week before I get it back.

I'll let you know when I get it back if it's fixed or not.

Also having problems with my 8.4 Uconnect. Flaky intermittent issues with backup camera, NAV, CarPlay, outside temp, etc. Getting software update at dealer for that, too. Sounds like a common problem based on the forums.

Got my Jeep back today with the new fuel pump installed. So far, no starting issues. Appears to be fixed. Yay!

I had the same issue and the dealership put in a new fuel pump too. Iā€™ve yet to experience the no-start since getting the new fuel pump.

Other than you and me, I donā€™t see any other JL owners in the various Jeep forums experiencing this same problem. It sounds like we simply won the ā€œbad luck lotteryā€ and got stung by the ā€œbathtub curveā€ of electronicsā€™ infant mortality.

Iā€™m coming to Jeep ownership after 13 years of Toyota ownership with ZERO problems. 2005 Tundra and 2010 Sequoia. My 2018 JLUR is the first year of a completely new vehicle design. Some teething pains are expected. I still love my new Jeep!

I've been having this exact problem intermittently since the first week of ownership in May. It began as once a month, to once a week now every other day. Now it's at the dealer. Hopefully just a fuel pump. The jeep doesn't throw a code and nowadays without a code, the techs are hesitant to begin old school troubleshooting. Other than slightly loose steering, I've had no problems with the Jeep.

I was able to demonstrate the no-start problem to my service writer. He even took a video of the event on his phone. But, that wasnā€™t proof enough for the tech and the service manager. So, I suggested that the tech take my Jeep home at night and check codes when it failed to start. My Jeep wouldnā€™t restart normally after he drove it home and also when he returned to the dealership the next day. He got the codes he needed both times. Fuel pump ordered, replaced and problem fixed!

Excellent.

Today dealer somehow determined faulty fuel pump without a code thrown....2 week delay on the replacement pump. Hopefully that will fill the problem.

My Jeep started acting up a few weeks ago, it lost power and died while driving, had a buddy come tow me, seemed like it was out of gas, but the gauge said 1/8 tank. We stopped at the gas station and put 10 gallons in it, started right up. After it died it threw a code and the check engine light came on. Dealer said they cleaned a plug and that should fix it. Drove home with no issues. Got back in it after about 40 minutes, put it in reverse and it started idling real rough and died, tried to restart, died. Started the third time, finally cleared up, but I left it home. Took back to dealer and they have had it for 2 weeks replacing connectors. It seems like they are going by the book with 5 star. Anyone else have anything like this?

The same issue is occuring with my JLU. Its been at the shop since March 3rd and all they've done is testing so far. Can you help us get a fuel pump replacement authorized? The car has only 250 miles, and been in the shop since it was delivered March 2nd...
