Before making a trip to the shop (or gear garage) I wanted to run this by you all to get an opinion. So my 2018 Sahara JL with 45K miles has been making a grumba, grumba, grumba rotational mechanical noise on deceleration (unloaded drive train coasting) at speeds under 35mph.
Have been having trouble tracing it down as it appears to be coming from just behind the drivers butt (t-case area). During my attempt to find it I drained the t-case and fluid looked spotless with zero fillings attached to the drain. When I did the same to the rear diff…this is what I found (see the pics). CV joints (reveppa joints) on the drive shafts look good...but I have no idea how to check them. Open to suggestions.
Question: Take it to dealer (I have no factory warranty left) or take it directly to local rear-end gear guy?
