The 2018 JL Wrangler (2 door) was first spotted testing many months ago but never resurfaced, until today. Like all prototypes do on occasion however, it appears this 2018 Jeep Wrangler broke down or required immediate maintenance during testing.

Fortunately, their FCA buddies were there to lend a hand and roll the JL wrangler onto a flatbed and back to their headquarters.

This JL prototype is completely covered so no new design details can be gleaned, but it's good to see the 2-door out testing again after a short hiatus.

I didn't realize FCA was borrowing drivetrains from GM. :D

This one clearly is wearing the new 245/75-17 standard tire size, on the old Rubicon wheels so that we can't see what the new wheel design looks like.

Is it just the perspective of these pics or does the rear pillar look more angled than the current JK 2 door?

More angled. Looks vertical while sitting on the angled tow truck platform, also in relation to the spare. It has very soft, rounded corners too.

Here's a few interesting things.
- The pillar does seem to lean more than the JK.
- You can see the outline of the hard top cut line and where it bows and it clearly goes from the driver's door to the passenger's door edge to edge.
- Hood bump visible
- There's no grab handles on the A pillar like we see on the JLU
- Wearing current Rubicon wheels but different than the JLU Rubicon ones in the other pics

^I want to see this 3-sunroof, 6-piece, storable in the trunk JLU roof like what was on the clay model, or the 2-sunroof, 4-piece one for the JL, and I want to see how it all stores inside the trunk/area.

The new Rubicon wheel design are on the JLU Rubicon prototype in the other recent spy pics thread -- 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Sahara (JLU) Roof Exposed! And they're a big change for the better.

How the heck were these shot? Drone? Helicopter? We need these angles of the JLU prototypes which have the roof exposed.

I don't think the overhead angles will tell you much. What we really need a look at is the covered rear of the roof and the covered rail where the roof meets the doors.

fancy new one for wifey, crappy old one for me
Happy to see a 2-door will still be offered.

With weight loss of ~ 500lbs?, a new smooth 6-speed manual, 300hp Hurricane, bikini top and no doors my empty nester days will be happy!
