Start by stating what motor, and transmission you have.
There is a TSB for low speed knock in the 2.0L but if you don't have that motor I'm wasting your and my time telling you.
Right, I have the 2.0 L Turbo (which I did list in my post, but I know your post wasn’t specifically to me). Do you happen to know what TSB update it is - like the number? I bought mine in October 2018... Do you know if it would have already been updated on Jeeps made after the update came out? I don’t know exactly how that works.

My rattle noise is definitely at low speeds though because it’s when I decelerate (just letting foot off the gas, not specifically braking) and usually around 1000-1500 RPM.

Theres also a known issue with the drive shaft rubbing against the fuel tank skid plate. Decelerating/slack in drive train could be causing this.

Okay, thanks for the info. I’ll ask about the TSB update and the possibility of the rubbing issue when I take it in on the 11th. Is there something they can do to fix the rubbing that you know of?

Loosen fuel tank skid bolts, put a strap around it and apply tension to pull it away from driveshaft slightly and re tighten bolts. There is a video showing someone doing this.

All tech bulletins, recalls, customer service notices are the first post in this technical section of JL forum.

JL's with 2.0L built in 2017-May 2018 had wrong oil in them.

Interesting. I’ll let the service department know about the possible rubbing issue.

I will also look up the TSB updates and see if I can find the one relating to knocking. I did have one done for the cooling fan already. I’ll check into this though.

This is kind of a stupid on my part, but I’m not sure when my car was even built... I bought it in October 2018. I did have the oil changed in March of this year, and the service department put the correct amount and type when they changed it (5 qts, 5W30). Would the ticking noise persist after putting new oil in if my Jeep had the incorrect oil to begin with?

Mine has a little ticking when first started and goes away. I always use 91 or 93 fuel as recommended for the 2.0L
manfacture date code is on driver door.

Mine says it was built 4-18. Do you think the ticking noise would be from the incorrect oil though, considering it only does it at low RPMs when decelerating (never at start up or turning engine off)? Plus I know I have the correct oil in it now.

I have the 2.0L Turbo and when I let off the gas completely (and usually only at lower RPMs), I hear a rattle-like noise. It lasts for a 3-10 seconds as a decelerate and then stops. I have been driving it like that for probably 5,000 miles (since January), so I feel like at this point I would get a CEL or something if it was detrimental to the Jeep. I also took it to the dealership and they just said it was “normal turbo noise” (I added the video for reference, sorry it’s kinda long). I think since it’s under warranty, I’ll probably take it to another Jeep dealership and get a second opinion.

If you go the second opinion route, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help with the servicing process.

Yes, I already sent you a direct message back in our previous direct message saying that I wanted a Care Specialist assigned because I am getting a second opinion at a different dealership on July 11th. Thank you for your assistance.

what was the TSB? I have a 2018 JL 2.0L 2 door making the same sound in the video

I'm thinking the ticking I hear in the 20L is the injectors are noisey and when warmed up or running for a bit, it quiets down.

I'm having this same rattle click gurgle in my 3.6. did you get it resolved?
