I recently purchased a 2017 wrangler big bear edition and it came with an after market backup camera. The camera is a bit whonky. When you first start the Jeep and put it in reverse, it works great, clear picture and video. If you put it in park and go back into reverse, the camera is black with “check your surroundings” message. The camera won’t work again until the Jeep is off and stays off for like 15 mins. It has the original uconnect radio. I took apart the dash and the wiring look OK and I believe it’s tapped into the cigarette lighter. Does anyone know what could cause this? I don’t know the make of the camera.
