I was told 34000 or 40000 as a trade in value with less than 8000KMs (not even 10 months old?)

Am I missing something? Tires and lift were 7K, all options nothing I can add

Canada btw

You talking about a Jeep 9 months ago that I paid over 60000 for and you’re saying it’s lost 50% of its value.....

I sold my 2016 f150 for 50000, paid 62500 for it....almost two years ago, find it hard to believe an f150 holds it value that much better

KBB shows $34-$37k fully loaded. Doesn’t sound like they’re that far off. Maybe you over paid.

Well I'm sure they're not including the mods you've done it like most dealers do. I've heard of dealers actually saying mods hurt the trade in price of the vehicle because not everyone wants a lifted/modded jeep/car :headbang:

Private party is always better but it's harder to find.
Good luck

Sold a ‘14 JKUR with over $15k in upgrades for $34k. I paid $37k for it 2 yrs ago. Original sticker on the Jeep said $37k. Upgrades on a car are much like upgrades on a house....they only pay off if you find a buyer who thinks what you did holds significant value. My dealer offered $30.5 on trade so I did a bit better with private sale.

Yeah but that’s a 2014, we’re twking a 9 month old Jeep. My f150s hold their value better after 2 years (which I find odd).

Unless you sell private, all the money for your tires and lift is straight loss. You can exclaim it's 9 months old all you want, it won't change what the dealer will give you.

Sell it private and you'll be likely to find someone to give you value for your mods.

You may be experiencing the effect of a new incoming model on the outgoing model. This is good news for folks that have been looking at Wranglers, but unfortunately it does not help your situation.

Almost a year ago, I traded my '14 JKUR with an AEV 2.5, the dealer offered me 30k, when I told them I wanted 35k they didn't even blink an eye. I am going to suffer on trading my '17 WK2 Trailhawk on the JLUR.

Youre saying 10k below blackbook value is normal....

Sell your mods separately. You kept your OEM parts, yes?

What some have said here. Most dealers won't give you more based on any mods you've done. Sorry, but sounds like you'll have to sell it yourself and I'll bet you make much closer to what you expect.
