Hey all. Had a C2200 ABS failure code and a couple of false wheel sensor codes and confirmed it was the famous ABS module internal failure in these Jeeps. I found the Holy Grail - a part-number matching remanufactured ABS module out of China for under $1000. I installed that and was then getting a Hydraulic Control Unit failure code, so I replaced the HCU too. Now my only code is for the C2206 VIN mismatch on the new module. I have a bidirectional Autel. It successfully communicated with the ABS module such that I successfully ran the bleed process. But when I try to rewrite the VIN in the module I get a message, "function not supported by ECU." And when I try to run the ABS module initialization process, it tells me to make sure the Jeep is on level ground, the wheels are straight and the brake pedal is not depressed. But when I run the initialization process, it aborts due to "conditions not correct." I'm stumped. The only other code I have is the passenger airbag restraint circuit open, which is often traced to the clockspring in the steering wheel. Any thoughts? Would that code maybe prevent the ECU from confirming that the wheels are straight? Why can't I rewrite the VIN? Much appreciated.

I think you’re looking for the JK forum?

I have an older Maxisys Pro w/ J2534 programmer. The times I’ve had similar issue have been tied to having the wrong voltage at the module during programming or my subscription with Autel being expired. Some vehicles (I don’t know squat about 2011 Wranglers) require a minimum of ~13.2V to be able to program new modules. I always make sure the battery is charged and my “good” power supply is hooked up and set to 13.8V. Good luck!

Correct, wrong forum. Thanks for the feedback! My autel subscription did expire. I'll check the voltage too. Appreciate it.
