Whoa I’ve been doing the exact same research for the past week or so! I’ve also settled on the dynatrac 2” suspension left until I saw the $1200 price tag, now I’m aiming for just 1.5-2” rubicon takeoffs since some takeoffs with steel bumpers or tow package can lift up to 2” or slightly more. It fits up to 35’s and I can’t go higher than 35’s on my Sport without upgrading axles anyways. Plus the takeoffs are only $100-$200

I’m currently on stock suspension with 34’s (285/75r17) and I think 1.5-2” lift would be perfect

Is THAT the Jeep from the MyTop commercial?

Well, I'm a fellow strong believer in research, research, and some more research. And taking notes along the way, is the best way to keep track of everything. Especially considering the plethora of options for the Jeep.
Then you all should like this. I did a ton of research when I lifted mine and added a lot of it in the linked thread → Link

295/70 Certainly help. In Aus this would be the maximum i could go from stock. Very strict in Aus, can only go 2" larger tyre than stock, any larger its illegal.
....
A 285/75/17 will give you a "34" similar to the 295/70/17. Both are typically 33.5" - 34".

As for lifts. I'm running the Daystar 2" kit. I got the advertised 2" and it came with new LCA's to keep the caster within spec. I wanted some lift, but didn't want to give up the comfort of the factory ride. I didn't need any "extra" capability so the stock components are fine. I got a Sahara for a reason. I made a "how to" thread on the install → Link

Anyway, I ran that with my stock 32" tires for a bit:

Jeep Wrangler JL 2" lift with 33s - was your 2" lift actually a 2" lift? 1612807449793

And later went to 34" tires (285/75/17) on stock rubicon wheels.:

I think both look fine. The larger tire makes the stock rake a little less noticeable, but I don't the the gap is too bad. It looks better with a more aggressive tire which is why I switched them out. I went a little bigger while I was at it, just because I could.

Alot of great info there thankyou. More and more im leaning to a 2" over the 1.5" especially with bar work and winch on the front. Rake doesnt bother me. Im eyeing off Milestar Patagonia MTs and they only come in 285/70/17 (32.9") or 295/70/17 (33.5") so im thinking to go the latter.

Ill have to look more into the value of upgrading the control arms and what caster is all about, very new to suspension and not across this. I had the AEV 2" lift kit as the front runner since it included the Recalibration Module.

The simplified version. Caster is the angle between the suspension (shock/strut mount) and wheel center (axle).

For more detail. Most cars/trucks are designed with a slight positive caster, which helps with stability. When you lift the vehicle, the angle is decreased, which can make it "wander" or to feel "twitchy." How pronounced the effect is depends on the angle, or lack there of.
For the most part the Sahara and Sport don't usually need to correct caster as long as the lift is minimal. I've read more complaints from the Rubicon, which is probably because it starts slightly higher and has a slightly shallower caster angle from the factory.

Worst case scenario is that you buy a kit that doesn't correct caster, and you decide after driving it a while that it doesn't track as straight as it used to, or as straight as you'd like. Then you just buy a new set of longer, or adjustable LCA's and swap out the stock set. It's not a permanent issue and certainly fixable if you decide you don't like the way the Jeep handles after the lift.

I just ordered the Dynatrac 2" lift for my JL Unlimited Sport. I am currently sitting on 33s (285/75/17) w/ moab rims. I am looking to correct my suspension sag from the mopar steel bumper and roof rack/rtt. I am hoping to gain about 1-1.5" lift being fully loaded on trips. I will keep you updated when installed!

FWIW 285/75/17 are typically considered 34's since they usually measure 33.6-33.9 depending on the manufacturer. Likewise, a lot of 35's have an actual size in the 34.5-34.8 range. The stock Rubicon and Moab size 285/70/17 is a 33 at roughly 32.8".
If you're running the former you have 34's. That doesn't change anything with the lift, but something to consider when comparing tires/parts.

Great info! I was actually curious about my size of tires. I am currently running the Firestone Destination M/T from the Willys Edition. I am hoping the 2" lift will look proportionate with my current wheel setup!

There happens to be a thread on this exact topic: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/lifted-2020-jlu-willys-edition-mopar-lift.56899/
Lifted on the Mopar 2inch, with the stock tires.

Will update thread later with how it looks on Firestone Destination XTs - moving to 35"

It'll look just fine. I'm running a 2" kit with the same size tires.
They're the KM2 which was on the Moab, although I bought 285/75/17 which is slightly larger than the stock 285/70/17 (I think the same is true for the Willys).

Willys are 255/75/17 Firestone Destination MT. So slightly smaller than the stock Rubicon. I do think 285/75/17 looks good though!

This is a before/after stock Sport S to 3" with 33's. I was going to go 35, but honestly, I'm happy with this look.

Ah. I thought they were the same size as Rubicon wheels (285/70). I wish I could find a good A/T tire in a 255 or 265 width around 34" diameter but they don't exist.

I have the same setup right now without the dynatrac, how did it perform once you put the lift on? Did you need wheel spacers?

I haven't received the kit yet. They are backordered and should be receiving them within the next 2 weeks. But i've been seeing mixed reviews, some are rubbing their swaybar/some not.
