Disclaimer* ive done countless searches and cannot find this info, but hoping to draw out some answers that will also help others wondering the same thing.

Im looking to put a lift kit on my JLU Sport S, but im sticking to 275/70/17 - so 33s.
Naturally for a balanced stance i dont want to go too high and have the 33s look small in the wheels arches and have an unbalanced stance.
My first thought was Teraflex 1.5” Sport ST1 spacer lift kit as the 33s sit really well within that lift.

But, I do wonder if there is a 2" lift kit out there that would still look balanced with 33s.
Here's the thing, from my research most 2" lift kits are often higher than advertised, leading to that unbalanced stance and the 33" looking too small when 35s would be better suited. 35s arent an option for me.

Ive seen the Dynatrac EnduroSport 2" lift increases by 2.5" - as per Trail Recons lift kit comparison
Ive seen some people report on here that the Mopar 2" is as much gain as 4" which is confusing.

So my question is this; who here is running 33"s on a 2" lift that is as advertised?
Has anyone done a comparison on 2" lift kits and their actual height gained? Even if it were on 35s or 37s but atleast it gives you the actual lift comparison.

Is this expectation unfair with manufacurers adding additional heigh with the knowledge it will settle over time?

Thanks in advance.

I have the RC spacer lift 2.5” front 2” rear with 35’s. If you are only going 33’s I wouldn’t go more than 1.5”. You can see in the pics with 35’s there’s still some room.

And thats a spacer kit, so you know its a true 2" lift. Thanks for this you have confirmed my suspicions. A true 2" lift is still too much for 33s. Looks miles better with 35s.

Whoa I’ve been doing the exact same research for the past week or so! I’ve also settled on the dynatrac 2” suspension left until I saw the $1200 price tag, now I’m aiming for just 1.5-2” rubicon takeoffs since some takeoffs with steel bumpers or tow package can lift up to 2” or slightly more. It fits up to 35’s and I can’t go higher than 35’s on my Sport without upgrading axles anyways. Plus the takeoffs are only $100-$200

I’m currently on stock suspension with 34’s (285/75r17) and I think 1.5-2” lift would be perfect

2” AEV body lift which raised my MOAB (33’s and rubicon suspension) exactly 2”.

Very happy with the lift And look.

That looks quite good, and hadnt considered AEV's body lift option. First ive seen with rear shock extensions and the recalibration module. This may've just gone to the top of my list.

What spec are your tires?
I assume you still have the slight positive rake with 2" lift all round?

Thanks for sharing!

So many things to consider. Rubicon take offs are like unicorns here in Australia!
Not that it will last long by the sounds of it, but 34's fill up the wheel arches really nice.

2" spacers
https://www.morris4x4center.com/tuf...cmxbx9835YbVONiG84MruMS_9fz8LELhoCZWEQAvD_BwE

better shocks (gas charged more than stock) 2-3" longer
295/70/17
295/70 Certainly help. In Aus this would be the maximum i could go from stock. Very strict in Aus, can only go 2" larger tyre than stock, any larger its illegal.

Looks like your wheels have negative offset - again, very strict laws in Australia i couldnt have this much offset. top of the wheel needs to be under the wheel arch.

Likely to go with AEV Savegre II wheels and with +25mm and that will be on the limit.

Is it just me or is the shorter wheel base of the 2-door work better with 33's and 2' lift?

This is a before/after stock Sport S to 3" with 33's. I was going to go 35, but honestly, I'm happy with this look.
This looks quite good hmmm you got me thinking. Can you clarify you said 3"? typo? what kit did you go with?

8.5" wheel width +12 offset/5.2" back spacing
MFR tire sizes are given as unmounted/unloaded height.

315/70/17 = 34.4 (34)

285/75/17 = 33.8 (33)
295/70/17 = 33.3 (33)
275/75/17 = 33.2 (33)

285/70/17 = 32.7 (32)
275/70/17 = 32.2 (32)

245/75/70 = 31.5 (31)

A lot a posts saying "1 got 33's or 35's but realistically it s more like 32's or 34's
I started with 305/65/17 listed as 32.6. They were really about 32.

I put on the Dynatrac Endurosport 2” lift with Teraflex .5” spacers up front. I didn’t measure before and after, but it was exactly what I was going for. 35’s look good with a 2” lift in my opinion, I like the gap.

Here's my Willys on 285/70/17 with Mopar 2.5 lift. It is definitely more than 2.5 but never precisely measured
