So anyone have an idea how Ford can get the 2 door Bronco to tow 3,500 with a 100" wheel base and the 2 door Wrangler sits at 2,000lbs with a 96.8" wheel base?

Yeah I couldn't find the officials weights yet on the Ford specs page. I was thinking that too. But I can't imagine it is more than 500lbs more and that adds 1,500 more towing capacity. I feel like the Jeep should be at 2,500 or 3,000.Just from the look of it, the Bronco seems to weight quite a bit more, which I would imagine plays a bigger part than those few inches since it's less likely to get pushed around by whatever is behind it.
Aww man.. would be nice to safely move 3,000-3,500 with the 2 door. That can change by production time. Here was the pre-build specs for 2 door JL.

Was that actually true though? Did the specific owners manual for those with that gearing actually show 3,500? I have seen that listed on the web, but found nothing official from jeep on that subject. The 2016-18 JK 2-doors were rated at 3,500 lbs towing with either 3.73/4.10 gears.
Not sure why FCA dropped the tow rating for JL
Yes, it was published in the owner’s manualWas that actually true though? Did the specific owners manual for those with that gearing actually show 3,500? I have seen that listed on the web, but found nothing official from jeep on that subject.
Interesting. I haven't looked in my manual.. but I have the 2020 2 door wrangler sport S with trak-loc. It gives me the Rubicon rear end, but I still think it is a 3.45. I will have to go look.Yes, it was published in the owner’s manual
Yeah I think that is probably true. Under specs it shows max towing, but further down the area specifically about towing all says TBD still. There is not enough information on Bronco towing yet to come to any conclusions.
It says 3,500 lb max towing, but says nothing about what configurations are required to achieve that. There is no detail about if there is a tow package option, and what it includes.
I don't think a 2 door on 35s will tow as much as a 4 door on 32s.
I'd take any Bronco towing info as "preliminary" for now.
Yes, JL has 3.45 gears. While you have a “Dana 44” rear end, it’s not the same as Rubicon.Interesting. I haven't looked in my manual.. but I have the 2020 2 door wrangler sport S with trak-loc. It gives me the Rubicon rear end, but I still think it is a 3.45. I will have to go look.
What is the ratio of the Dana 44?Yes, JL has 3.45 gears. While you have a “Dana 44” rear end, it’s not the same as Rubicon.
