If you have a Jeep, usually means you're pretty outdoorsy, as is with my case. I'm looking on rack ideas for mountain bikes and skis/snowboards in the winter season. With a soft top, obviously a roof rack is no longer an option.

I had been looking at this snowboard/ski spare tire rack, but might need to be drilled out for the backup camera, if it's even possible...

The Thule ski rack looks like it needs the Thule bike rack, and that one looks like it attaches through the spare wheel center, so it might not work with the JL camera.

This bike rack doesn't look like it blocks the camera, and it doesn't hook onto the bumper, so you could still operate the tailgate...

I have a pretty high end mountain bike, so I'm not sure I'd be comfortable to have it sit by the frame and attached to the tire, rather than coming off the hitch.

We went with the Allen Sports 322DN Premium 2 Bike Spare Tire Mounted Bike Rack for 18-19 Jeep Wrangler JL with the Thule Tram ski and snowboard carrier. This option doesn't interfere with the back up cam.

I took my kids 2 bikes 1500 miles round trip with that exact bike rack in the link. Worked great.

edit; the link MrMischief linked.

I took an existing Hollywood racks SR1 spare tire bike rack and made some modifications. Drilled and mounted one Thule rack to the existing horizontal beam. Installed a new lower beam in which to mount the second rack. I wanted a spare tire rack that didn't block the back up camera. This solved all of my problems

Old thread...but really like what you did. This seems like the best option out there due the cam on the JL. I like the Fabio Gringo but that would conflict with the cam. I wonder how these straps and snaps hold up as they longer they spend in the elements the more brittle the snaps become...at least on boat trailers. Would you mind providing specs of the additional tube? Length of the existing bar...assuming you matched the length.
