I know there was another thread about these, but I can’t find it now. Maybe it was removed?

Anyway, when I pre-preordered it had an estimate of March 2022. They must be way ahead of schedule because I just got my ship notification this morning.

Wonder if they'll do a soft top version.

Package has arrived. I’m going to see if I can do it with the hard top on. I'm probably going to have to unbolt it and prop it up on spacers at a minimum, to install the velcro on the top of the sound bar.

I do have the Bestop Sunrider on the front, so I will remove that to make the holes for the bolts, as instructed for the soft top install.

Ok so you can definitely install it with the hard top installed. You just won’t be able to attach the extra Velcro pad to the top of the sound bar. I don’t really see the need for that. Maybe with the top off it will prevent excess flapping, but I have no plans to remove the top anyway. And if I do, well, I can install the extra Velcro.

Pro Tip: If you are installing this with the hard top in place, slide the front pads in from the rear to make it easier.

And done, with Bestop Sunrider reinstalled.

I’ll have to get better pics of everything in the daylight.

The one thing I could see that would make it better for those that go with no top at all, would be something to wrap the B Pillars. Those are unsightly when there's no top hiding them...

It does not appear that they work with the soft top hardware mounted to them? Maybe I am missing something.

It will. You will have to remove all the soft top hardware, install the pads, then install soft top brackets back over them, making holes for the bolts to pass through. Exactly like I had to do on the front of mine, where I have the Sunrider.

Ok, thanks. What keeps the holes from tearing? Did you just punch a hole with a knife or something?

The instructions say to cut a small X with a razor, but I just used an ice-pick to make a tiny hole and the bolts pushed right through.

There isn't really any force being put on them once it's installed, so not sure how they would tear. Not to mention, the plastic brackets themselves are compressing the pad material against the roll bar, so any force wouldn't be directly on the bolt holes anyway.

Great thread- ordered! I have been looking for covers since I bought my JLR (was beginning to research making them myself- but this is a much better/easier solution).
