Hi All,

I am looking to put a lift on my dr JL.
Was orignally planning to go with a 2.5 inch lift but am worried it will look silly with 33s.
Does anyone have pics of 2 drs lifted with their 33s that they can share for some inspo.

Thanks yall!

What do you think of the look of a Rubicon? Do you think it looks too tall, or not tall enough? Since they come with 33" tires stock, it might help to know if you think that looks like too much tire or if it looks good.

Way too much lift for 33’s.
I’ve got Clayton 2.5” springs and I’m on 38’s and to me, it’s just about perfect tire to fender relationship.

Here is a picture of my JL with the Clayton 2.5" and the 32" Willys wheels and tires. This picture does not do the lift any justice. It looked so goofy, that I had to go to 35's the following week:

Here is a picture with 35's on the front and 32's on the back:

Needless to say, 2.5" lift and 35's fit the 2-door perfectly, for me.

@Dillythekid,

Dylan, I know you asked for pics of a 2.5" lift with 33's. I never considered it. I lifted my Sport but I jumped straight up to 35's (from the stock Michelin 31's). I know apples and oranges comparing my sport to a rubi.

However, I've never regretted it. I routinely do mountain trails here in my home state of CO without any issue when some Rubicon's on 33's need assistance. I'm certainly not bragging but the right rubber makes all the difference.

Also, I'd never contemplate a larger tire with my sport due to it's 3.72 gearing. However, the 8-speed auto handles this setup like it was designed for them. So for me 35's are the perfect fit.

I'm chiming in only to give you a reference. With a stock Rubi you might get by with 35's and no lift but I believe the lift also provides exactly the right proportions for both form and function. I had no option for the sport, they just have to go together.

Jay

I didn't have them on very long and am already on 35s. I'd probably be on 37s now if it weren't for the height of my garage.

Thank you all for the pics and info!
I think I may be do 1.5 spacer or a rubicon takeoff until it’s time to get 35s

Sounds like a plan, here's my install on Rubi takeoffs if you haven't seen it and decide to go that route. I have since added 2" Teraflex spacer kit for a 4dr so I have about 3.5" lift (since my front end dropped about 1/2" from a winch and steel bumper).

Clayton 1.5" lift (gave me 3") on 34's (285/75-17).

Any straight-on pictures? Looking to see how much poke you have. If I’m doing the visual math right, you should have the outside of your tire in the same spot as a 1.75” spacer on a stock wheel (6” BS stock to your 5.2” BS now, plus 1” for the wider rim).
