Hi All - I was looking for pics of 285/75/17 tires and stock sport S wheels before I bought these, so I figured I’d post mine. I’ve got a 2.5 inch lift and the tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3ws.

Really digging the look of these.

Looks great! Seems like you have tons of room between the bumper/spare tire too, did you relocate or change the bracket?

Welcome to the forum!

Looks awesome.

I’m always amazed how little work Wranglers need to look great.

Thanks! I figured if it did fit it would be close, so I went with a relocation bracket. I like the space it gave me.

Do you think 2.5 inch lift would look good with 285/70?

Hey - I was thinking about going with 285/70/17s but I'm glad I went with the 75s. I think it's a nice compromise vs going with 35s.

Not sure if this helps, but my cousin has a 4XE Rubicon with stock tires and Rubicon suspension. This is what our Jeeps look like side-by-side. The stock Rubicon suspension sits lower than a 2.5" lift, but is still higher than the stock Sport S. I think the pictures does show the difference between 70s and 75s.

I bought someone's stock 4XE Rubicon Suspension and installed onto my Sport S and gained 2.5 at the rear and 2 at the front.
I was shocked and my wife was... Let's just say "Shocked as well" 😁

Did you have to regear or use wheel spacers running the stock wheels with the 285/75/17? Looks really good

Looks like you have enough room for flex. Unless you are doing sway bar disconnected extreme articulation. IMHO, a simple Teraflex ST1 spacer lift should get you most of the way without overhauling suspension.

From here, you can choose to add FOX shocks for 1.5" lift height or get a 392 takeoff shocks.

If you are wondering what a 2" coil lift looks like with fully loaded for trail, winch, rtt + 285/70/17 (33s)

I've read that you can't run this spacer lift on OEM 17x7.5 rims due to offset. Apparently, the rear sway bar connections contact the wheel/tire, no?

Under full articulation the end links top part starts touching inner side of the rim.. not to an extent to shear it of but enough to hear it. This is usually when you are twisted in extreme off camber.

I am currently on 2" lift height with axles centred using adjustable track bar. I still have that potential to rub the wheel inner rim - only in the most extreme articulation of the rear axle.
17x8 +30 offset on 315/70/17

The funny thing is, the remedy is not cheap.. I tried to lower the rear sway bar using a drop bracket (MC or snergy) .. even a 1" drop will make the sway bar rub with the rear shocks. this creates a much bigger problem than the above "edge case"

Until I move to a new set of wheels (costs an arm these days), I chose to live with that. I havent broken anything yet and even in those extreme states, you are going slow and the rub is very minor.

Right when I think I got my set up figured out something else is discovered as a possible issue. Back to the drawing board, smh.

just add rear bump stops.. :) lifts and mods are always a give and take. I use the jounce bump stops (those yellow/orange thingys) from the ST1 kit to add an extra 1.5" buffer both rear and front

if it helps.. here is how it looks.. Just about kisses it at absolute full droop.. you will in theory never droop the rear this extreme.. and that explains why there is no rash on my inner rim on actual real world trail conditions. This photo was taken by my off road shop to explain it to me and yet assuring this wont be a problem in the real world.
