I needed to replace my battery today, searched here, and couldn't find size info. And, for my 2019, both Costco and Advance Auto's online configurator didn't show anything. Jeep has completely confused them. I have the lowly 600 CCA battery stock, as my Jeep didn't have the tow package. Anyway, Costco's configurator did show a battery for the 2020, although 2020's didn't have E-Torque. And their battery was a 750 CCA battery.

So I took my battery to Costco, and the H6(48) was the exact same size despite having 25% more CCA. How do they do that. $170 later I was out the door.

Things like this always happen in inconvenient spots. In this case, the Jeep was in the dark side of my garage, and I couldn't see down in the battery tray very well. And Jeep has invented a new to me way of holding down the battery.

Loosen the bolt at the bottom enough for the rectangular piece of plastic to slide toward the fender, or take it out altogether. The battery has short ledges at the base that slide under the piece of plastic at the driver's side of the battery box and under the plastic piece at the firewall (left) side of the box.

To get the battery out, first slide it towards the fender 1/4" or so, and then slide it to the right 1/4". It will slide over the little wedge shaped piece of plastic at the front of the box. Then you can lift it straight up with the little built in handle.

Hope this helps somebody.

It died. I did unintentionally abuse it a couple times. During the pandemic shutdown, I didn't drive it for a bit and found the battery dead. Then I discovered that my winch, which has a wireless remote control, put a parasitic load on the battery. So I put a battery switch in.

Last summer while camping, I knew the battery was a little low, and I planned on turning off my fridge for the night. But I forgot. And the voltage cutoff on the fridge was set too low.

I'm sure the battery suffered some permanent damage from each of those incidents. Most recently it was just in my garage for about 3 days without being driven. No parasitic loads either.

What did your old battery do/ not do for you to replace it ?
my engine stopped turning off when I stopped. When I scrolled through message center it said the battery was charging. That’s when I decided to replace mine! Everything is back to normal now!
